Re: Trade season
Rumor has it the Wolves are actively shopping for a point guard. At least they recognize the need. Rob may turn out to be a decent NBA player, but he isn't right now and I'm against force feeding him too many minutes when we're trying to win a championship. He really isn't a very good fit right now. Get a deal done TC, we only have two untouchable players as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Trade season
James Harden?
Jrue Holiday?
LaMelo Ball?
Ja Morant?
And who are you giving up? NAZ and Donte?

Re: Trade season
I would probably be looking more in that lower to mid tier range. How about a Dilly for Tre Jones? Might be selling low on Dilly but Chicago can play him and wait for his upside. Can we get a couple seconds rounders too? Tre can play right now with limited upside, but he's solid.
Maybe DDV for Coby White? Whites a FA so Bulls may be fine taking on DDV's favorable longer term deal.

Re: Trade season
I actually think it would be dumb to move Dilly now. His value isn't very high and I feel like he has really started to come on as of late. I would move Naz and Donte in a deal for a pg.
Re: Trade season
Sell high (Julius Randle ), Buy low (Ja Morant).
Re: Trade season
I can’t come up with a realistic trade for a PG that would likely, on net, turn our current 10-8 team into a championship contender. We’re have to give up a lot of talent to get a talented starting PG. And any PG we get at this point will have warts or issues, otherwise they wouldn’t be available. Also, I think any major trade at this juncture would be premature and ill-advised because I don’t believe we’re getting the most out of the players we currently have. I think Finch is doing a poor job with rotations and allocation of minutes. And I think certain key players have been far too inconsistent in their effort or far too consistent in making the same careless mistakes. For example, even the best PG would have likely turned the ball over the way Donte did at half court with Ant jogging casually behind the play. We have multiple problems no PG can fix and until we fix those those problems we can’t count on becoming a championship contender by trading existing talent for a player at one position.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 27, 2025 3:27 pm Rumor has it the Wolves are actively shopping for a point guard. I think that’s right, Crazy. But my sense is that Rob would be included as icing in a deal that would involve Naz or Donte if we’re talking about acquiring a starting PG. I think that would be a mistake, but that’s probably how it would go down.Crazysauce wrote: ↑Thu Nov 27, 2025 7:23 pm I actually think it would be dumb to move Dilly now. I think the best win-now fit for the Wolves from this list would be Jrue Holiday - but I say that without knowing whether he is still at age 35 the same caliber defender he’s been throughout his career. The main problem with Jrue is that we’d be stuck with a $37M salary two years from now when he’s 37 years old.
Ja Morant would be a win-now acquisition with long term value based on his age, which aligns with Ant and Jaden. However, we might need to give up Jaden to get him. I think Ja is best value proposition based on his market likely being well below his talent because of his character/attitude issues. But he’s also perhaps the highest risk because of those issues, which I consider problematic.
LaMello Ball would be another win-now acquisition with long term value based on his age. As with Ja, we night need to give up Jaden to get him. I’m not a LaMello fan but he’s probably slightly lower risk than Ja. He’s be an interesting pairing with Ant.
