The Turnaround Begins - Celtics at Wolves GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

It's an early 4:00 game on NBA-TV. The Wolves are favored by 7.5. I hope we play well.

I also hope this does not become the Minott and Garza Payback Tour! (Although both should be happy getting more opportunity than they would have had with the Wolves.)

I see these two teams as very even right now, although Boston has won 5 out of 6 and we've lost three in a row, so the 7-point line seems odd to me. I think the oddsmakers are concerned about Brown, Queta and White all on the injury report. But both Brown and White played Friday, and Queta is expected back (Garza started in his place in the win over the Pistons), so I think this line is too high.

Whether Queta plays or not will have a lot to do with this outcome. He has the third best defensive rating in the Association at just over 100, and opponents score an astounding 24.5% fewer points per 100 possessions when he is on the court! He's been a big reason the Celtics are coping so well despite losing Tatum, Horford, Porzingis and Holiday.

We have to hope the shooting touch doesn't return to the Celtic's 3 top scorers...Brown, White and Pritchard are all under 35% on a high volume of treys. This is going to be a close one today, so let's all be thankful on Thanksgiving weekend that we have a team that thrives in clutch time  .

Queta is a good example of a big man that has been brought along very slowly, including playing 80 G-league games in his first three seasons, with small doses of NBA action. Now he's finally in the regular rotation of a good team at age 26 and thriving.

This early offense is dumb, Ant and McDaniels standing in the corner sound nothing just allows the defense to sag off.

Queta getting 5-6 seconds in the lane...they have to point that out

His screens are a little suspect too.

Jaylen Brown is a bucket. He was 8/12 and the rest of the Celtics were 8/18 from the field.

The Celtics were relentlessly hunting for favorable matchups for Brown and the Wolves kept complying with them. Why the hell did Reid switch onto Brown when Clark was on him!?

Ken hasn’t commented on it, yet, but NAZ is terrible if he is not scoring.

As he gets a rare rebound…. :)
