No Wemby, No Problem - Spurs at Wolves GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

The Spurs are 5-1 since Wemby was sidelined. There are not missing a beat. The Wolves are playing after a tight game last night. Yet, Vegas has the Wolves up by 3.5.

Maybe the flood gates will open now that the Wolves have finally beaten a team with a winning record. This is probably the toughest matchup the Wolves have over FNG's 7 games (or is 9?). A win would have us feeling pretty good again heading down for a couple in New Orleans!

It looks like no Castle either, so Wolves need to take advantage.

Yeah, no Castle or Wemby again, but oddly they have been playing better since the 2 of them got hurt...they've won 5 of their last 6 games without them, with half of those games over teams with winning records. I've never been a big fan of Fox, but he is really playing well for the Spurs, and they are well stocked with effective role players. The Wolves finally beat a team with a winning record, but can they do it twice in a row? Vegas has them favored by 3 1/2, and I think the smart money will be on the Spurs. The Spurs rank ahead of us in both defensive and offensive ratings, and are better rested after beating the Nuggets Friday. I agree with Tim that this is going to be the most difficult game in my original poll of 7 (before they threw Golden State in there). If we win this one to go to 12-8, spirits will be higher here.

Luke Kornet starting for the Spurs. He was on my list of offseason backup C targets, but alas, Connelly decided to draft two teenagers instead to fill a gaping and obvious hole.

Low energy defense to start the game as usual.

Ant throwing one careless pass after another here. Sigh.

Donte's 2-point shooting is vastly improved over last season
