Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
Ant's shooting 49.1, 40.9, and 82.6%, shooting 55.2% from two. Will Ant join the 50-40-80 club this season for the first time?

Yeah, if you look at his stats compared to previous years, he has taken a big leap so far. Very encouraging!rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 10:58 am Ant's shooting 49.1, 40.9, and 82.6%, shooting 55.2% from two. Will Ant join the 50-40-80 club this season for the first time?

I'm pretty certain he won't... and probably won't even reach the 50 or 40 part.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 10:58 am Ant's shooting 49.1, 40.9, and 82.6%, shooting 55.2% from two. Will Ant join the 50-40-80 club this season for the first time?
But his 2 point percentage being up is a great sign. He just keeps getting better... and better.

Someone on reddit posted that Ant averages the 2nd most clutch points per game at 5.7 behind SGA at 8.9 points per clutch. In the clutch Ant is shooting 63.2%, 50% from three, but just 75% from the line in the clutch. Just need to keep the turnovers down.

And his turnover percentage is down this year so strides are being made.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 9:10 pm Someone on reddit posted that Ant averages the 2nd most clutch points per game at 5.7 behind SGA at 8.9 points per clutch. His handles might be a bit tighter (?). And of course if you just shoot it instead of pass it, the turnover likelihood goes down!Phenom wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 9:46 amAnd his turnover percentage is down this year so strides are being made.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 9:10 pm Someone on reddit posted that Ant averages the 2nd most clutch points per game at 5.7 behind SGA at 8.9 points per clutch. My biggest gripe with Ant is that he dies on screens way too easily on defense and on offense he still ignores wide open team mates too often or makes the pass a beat late, thus eliminating the original advantage.

Ant is stuck in between two arch types right now.
He's not a high enough level playmaker right now- despite taking steps this year and last- to run a top tier offense. He not in the same class as even Brunsen, much less SGA or Luka on this front.
And his defense has taken a significant step backwards this year so he isn't taking steps towards being an elite two way player.
His scoring efficiency is carrying him right now and I'm afraid that him and the coaching staff want to shoehorn him into the former role, while I believe the best for him is actually the latter.
Either way, I'm really in frustrated with his defense right now. I'm pretty sure he got taken off the dribble by Dennis Schroeder or some guy like that which is terrible and he sags off his man way too much and too often leaving them open for threes and close outs.

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
He can definitely give more on defense, especially in the regular season. He will still makes the highlight reel block shots and steals that can really turn a game around at the right time. And he will still lock in one on one when he's needs to. Against San Antonio when he came back in in the 4th, he said he wanted the rookie Harper and he locked him down. Some things like awareness and bbiq probably isn't going to come in time, but staying in front of his player is a must. We used to funnel players into Rudy a few years ago which was a good strategy, but you can't just get blown by in the process.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 10:36 amThis is spot on QQ-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 10:20 amHis handles might be a bit tighter (?). Those "lock down" plays are sparingly few to this point in the season.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 10:56 amHe can definitely give more on defense, especially in the regular season. Ant currently had a defensive rating of 117 which is terrible for a player of his caliber and the primary reason for his underwhelming net rating.
Last year his rating was 112 which is quite good.
He is so important to the offense that I'm not really that bothered by him needing to catch a breath on the other end, but there have been far too many casual defensive possessions OFF BALL leading to easy easy points. These possessions aren't a product of concerning energy, he's just not paying attention to his man and playing too far off. It's a fixable problem, but he has been straight up bad on defense by his own standard
Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
I get the joke about shooting leads to less turnovers but Ant's FGA has stayed high 19, low 20, the last 4 years while his usage has gradually climbed. If the roster stays as is, it will be a clear sign of what TC and Finchy are pushing Ant to be as a heliocentric type player. With Ant it always about mindset so hopefully it can be another case of Ant disproving what he can't be by setting his mind to it.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 10:20 amHis handles might be a bit tighter (?).
