Going back to last year, Finch had an 8-man rotation plus a half here and there. That half was initially Minott for a month or so starting in December. Apparently, Finch tired of Minott and switched to Clark in January. Shannon recovered from has ankle injury and started getting minutes in February, aided by Randle's month long groin injury. So, we closed the season with our 8-man rotation and a half or two from Clark and Shannon.
Entering this season, we assumed Shannon would grab the 8th spot in the rotation, and Clark and Dilly would get that half or two. But between Shannon's foot injury and Clark's impressive +/-, Clark is the one who seems to own the 8th spot.
I find it interesting that Joan has spent no time in Iowa. As we start off the month of December, do you think Dilly is on the verge of being "Minotted", opening up those spare "10th" man minutes for Joan? He has the potential to add rim protection and rebounding that we lack when Rudy goes to the bench. It's something to keep an eye on this month...
Developing the Youngin's
Re: Developing the Youngin's
Joan looked a bit overwhelmed to me in the pre-season, so I don't see it as some big upgrade (pun intended) if he replaced Dilly as our 10th man. And NBA refs are brutal with young/rookie bigs. He'd be called for a foul by simply breathing on anyone driving into the paint.60WinTim wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 12:16 pm Going back to last year, Finch had an 8-man rotation plus a half here and there. The front office has a lot riding on Dillingham and it goes beyond this season, so Finch may keep him in the rotation until we are at least halfway through the regular season. He has put a cap on the downside risk Dilly poses by limiting him to one first half stint of late.
