Repairing the Foundation - Wolves at Pelicans GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

We went into the last game trying to stack wins. But it was pretty messy. Here is our chance to go back and fix up the foundation for stacking more wins in the days ahead. Wolves are favored by 11.5 points.

One of these games, Shannon is gonna bust out and have himself a game...

Everyone except the young guys and Ant were despondent in the locker room post game…especially Ju and Rudy. Unusual after a win. I expect a much better defensive effort tonight. Let’s empty the benches midway through the 4th!

Did the Wolves do enough in the previous win to make the young Pelicans want to give up right away? Or are the Pels going to redouble their efforts thinking they could have won? Look for Randle and Ant to go hard on offense right away.

I expect the Pelicans to play with the same energy and pace they did on Tuesday. I thought they made a lot of really tough shots, so between some shot regression plus the Wolves taking them more seriously I'm hoping for an easier win. But anything is possible with this team, so I wouldn't be shocked if it was another nail-biter either!

Maybe I'm a homer, but I think I will be shocked if we have another nailbiter. The talent gap between these two teams is huge. We struggled in the last game because we were lazy on defense. Finchy was quite tolerant of guys not getting back on defense Tuesday, and I don't think he will be tonight. I expect a focused defensive effort tonight.

In addition to Curry being out, General Soreness is sitting it out, too, at Philly. They’re down 27-5 late in the 1st quarter…

Now we just need Phoenix to stumble a bit and may be we can create some distance between us and the play-in mess. Booker's injury will hopefully help with that (?).

The team to keep an eye on is Dallas. Folks tend to forget just how damn good AD is because he's injured so often. But when he isn't, he is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. They've won three straight.

Dang! Rudy has come to play! And his teammates are giving him a chance!

Ant with just one assist, but he's handling the double teams well...got the ball to Rudy twice, and Rudy got the assists. Better focus on defense too.

All that matters is that Julius gets his shots. 6 for Randle and zero for Jaden during this stint. That fucking sucks.
