How many of the next seven games will the Wolves win?

Post by FNG »

One more post before I head out for a big Thanksgiving feast!

It's challenging to feel optimistic about our Wolves after the last four games...3 late game collapses and almost blowing a 20+ lead to the woeful Wizards. But maybe it's the nice games TJ and Rob gave us last night, or maybe I'm just a hopeless homer, but I'm feeling some optimism about the next 7 games. I mentioned in another thread that I expect we will be favored in all seven. The Spurs are playing well without Victor and playing them on the back end of a BTB will be tough, but we will be favored. And as bad as the Pelicans have been, I don't like playing any team twice on their court in three nights. But still, we will be heavy favorites.

So let's go on the record...how many of the next 7 games do you think the Wolves will win? Poll will close before the Boston game Sunday, so do your analysis as you digest your turkey and weigh in!

I have them winning 4 games. This team should win 6, but they are playing like a .500 team and will continue to do so until Ant picks up his defense and Randle gets out of his slump. Or Finch changes things up and plays more of the Pups.

We’re getting the results I expected! Do we need much more proof that we just don’t know who this team is yet? We probably have Tim at 7 wins and KG at 3 or fewer, and all options voted except 5 wins…we’ll probably end up with 5 then!

I’m in at 6 wins, most concerned about the spurs game the day after Boston…they’re playing well despite wemby’s absence.

I am pretty sure we'll win one game, most likely one of the two games down in New Orleans. After that... ;)

I know it seems really doomsday-ish around here lately. But for the two unlikely late game meltdowns, we would all be feeling pretty damn good. That's a fine line between "flying high" and "the sky is falling".

Only two of the games are away -- the two at New Orleans. And while the home games are not cake walks, the Wolves are playing some pretty good basketball, with both Shannon and Dilly showing signs of earning their minutes. I think they'll figure some stuff out in clutch-time, or avoid clutch-time altogether. So I am switching from a 1-win prediction to a 7-win prediction. Let the good times roll! :D

I voted 3 because I couldn't vote zero.

I'm just feeling down on this squad right now. I was ready for them to turn it up from the 10-5 start and all I heard was a fart noise.

Come on guys, we need more than 5 votes here...let's go on the record! It's interesting that nobody has picked 5 wins yet, because if you assign a win probability to each game, I come up with 5.

I'm not sure why I went with 7 games, because we may be favored in the next 9 games (well, probably not at the Warriors if Steph is healthy). This is a very critical period for the Wolves, and it's good we enter into it healthy. if we can go 7-2, and we should be able to, spirits will be much higher sitting at 17-10 as we host OkC.

Thanks, Phenom...I thought I had misread the schedule when I did my poll, but I had forgotten about the 2 substitute Cup games. With the game against GS now in my 7 game schedule, winning 6 is going to be a challenge. But we got the first one!

I teed up this thread because I thought the subsequent 7 games (now 9 with the addition of the Warriors and Kings) would tell us more about who this team is. I felt pretty confident predicting we would win at least 6 of the 7 games, but I also thought 4 or fewer would convince TC to be a seller at the trade deadline...Ju at least would be gone.

Well so far everything is going well in this critical stretch, winning the first 4 games and having 2 winnable home games up next. Absent a complete collapse, I don't see TC making any changes.

In other matters, I note that KG4ever hasn't posted since November 25. He's probably on vacation or busy at work, but I feel bad that he hasn't been around to enjoy this 4-game win streak ;) .

4 down 6 to go. I'm sticking with my 10 game win streak prediction. Only one more road game, no back to backs.
