Trade season

This last two games should cool the PG trade talk a bit. We just won two in a row without Mike Conley or our star (Ant) - one game on the road against a good opponent (Warriors).

In the Warriors game, Dilly was a +-0 in 17 minutes with 6 points. Bones was a +2 in 5 minutes. TJ logged 30 minutes and 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in that game. He was a +12.

Against the Kings, Dilly was a +6 in 12 minutes of play with 5 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound, 1steal and 0 turnovers. Bones was obviously terrific in this game last night.

It would be one thing if we could just add any PG we wanted without giving up anything. But when you measure what we have against what we would likely net out with from a realistic trade, it’s likely not a going to make us more competitive against OKC or even advance us in the standings. The grass is almost never greener on the other side of a mid-season trade made out of desperation.

I agree for now. We have Memphis, OKC, New York, and Denver in the next 4 games lets see if we can win at least 2 of them. After that we have a few easier games and a very tough January. If we get to February and we're in the play-in picture, we have a decision to make.

We beat Sacramento, and an aging Golden State without it's hub Draymond. We did do a good job of not letting Derozan kill us in the 4th quarter this time. We lost to Utah and Washington last season when Ant was out, and the Lakers without Luka, Lebron and Smart this year without Ant, so at least that is progress. I can't figure this team out, but I think it could be the 2nd seed at the end of the year, and at the same time I think we might drop to the 8th seed. Either way we can't beat OKC in a 7 game series.

Well, there is definitely smoke out there with Giannis and the Wolves. I think TC is under pressure to do something big. We aren't winning a title as is, or even getting back to a conference final. The thing about Giannis is he would take away the need for a point guard. He would take some of the pressure off Ant to always initiate the offense. To me the question is can we swing a huge deal like this without giving up Jaden.

Could it be Ants injury why Vegas has pulled betting on Wolves win win total? I haven't actually seen what's the nature of the injury outside of 'lower leg injury'. If it's a calf strain that could be a few weeks.

I don't think there's any way this happens without both Jaden and Ju in the deal, plus picks. We aren't going to include Ant, and I don't see anyone else the Bucks might be interested in. I would be intrigued by that deal, but I don't think I would do it.

This probably won't be well received here, but seeing how well we have played without Ant, I would be in favor of a true blockbuster: Ant and Conley for Giannis. I get that Ant is much younger, but I've moved into the camp that I don't see us ever competing for a chip with him as our leader. Giannis is an on/off monster...+20 this year and positive every year of his career...while Ant is a -3.9 this year and barely breakeven for his career. If the Bucks are moving on from Giannis, a deal with Ant in it would likely be as good as they could get. And we could compete with a starting line of Rudy, Ju, Jaden, Giannis, and Donte, with Naz and the youngsters coming off the bench.
