Secondary offensive players had no answers tonight, and my god the dumb turnovers!

I blame Ant for the dumb turnovers and defensive lapses. He left Landale open time and again. And why wasn't he boxing out Landale either? He feasted on glass tonight. And the hero ball chucking and reckless drives tonight were killer.

Am I doing this right?

It sucks we lost, but I have to give a lot of the credit to the Memphis defense and their overall effort. KCP won a ring just a few years ago as Denver's starting shooting guard and wing stopper. Wells is an outstanding defender. Their bigs worked their asses off and challenged everything. And with Morant out, they didn't need to hide anyone.

What I'm most down about is that Clark, Shannon, and Dilly (the trio responsible for replacing NAW) played poorly tonight. These guys are no longer rookies. Clark needs to hit those open corner 3s and stop fouling. Shannon needs to get a right hand. Dilly needs to stop turning it over so much. Finch couldn't trust any of these guys in the 2nd half and even folk-hero Bones came up empty. Now we know why Conley keeps getting minutes when he's healthy!

It doesn't bode well for our next game against OKC, does it? Can you imagine the outcome if we bring that same type of effort on Friday?!?

Oh well, they'll have a chance to go back and see their mistakes and poor decisions. Maybe ANT will play, although just like the Knicks game, I don't know that his first game back after a long layoff will be very productive...

Shot terribly and got out hustled. A recipe for defeat.

Hopefully Ant back next game.

It’s quite clear we aren’t better than OKC, Denver, Houston and the Lakers. At best we are a 5th seed, but potentially a 6th seed.

Too many holes in this squad this season.

I think this is for sure when Ant is out. I think with Ant this team is still 3rd or 4th. Julius had a pretty rough game but the supporting cast with Ant was good enough tonight, if we still want Ant to be a scorer.

Its pretty concerning that Jaden was completely unable to provide any scoring punch. He's losing confidence in his shot too, so I hope that bounces back.
Early on it looked like Naz was due for an explosion but man oh man did that settle down. This team is too reliant on drive and kick offense and 3 point shooting- that's why zone or shell defenses can really stump them. If their shots aren't falling then forget about it.

Which is unfortunate cause there are more than enough players who would be great on cuts to the basket if they operate the offense more that way- both Jaden and Naz would be so much more effective this way.

I noticed the same thing...Memphis's defense was very good, despite missing Edey. But still, we would have won if we hadn't missed 31 treys and 8 free throws...unacceptable.

Two other things I noticed: the sun rose in the east this morning, and KG4ever showed up during a bad loss after being absent while we won 7 out of 8 games!

Robson posted that Memphis has the second best defensive rating the past 11 games (only behind OkC) as they have gone 8-3.
