This was another game where Edwards assist total doesn't properly portray his play making chops. He wasn't dropping dimes or anything but he moved the ball well outside of a few possessions.
Underrated game from Randle too, I liked his approach, wasn't too careless, good playmaking and defense

Abe's Late-Late Night DVR Review:
- Fun UGLY game. Incredibly competitive... and a big Wolves win.
- Obviously, it helped that OKC played last night and had to travel... but meh... who cares. Any win over that team should be celebrated.
- That was a calculated ejection from Finch. And it looks like it worked. The Wolves gave as good as they got from OKC in this one. And I think it goes back to Finch being ejected. The Wolves took 47 FTAs! And it should have been more.
To be fair, a different crew on a different night would have fouled out McDaniels in 4 minutes. Other Wolves followed his lead though. Both team were incredibly physical and handsy. Not many NBA teams can play as physical as these two teams...
- All the replays went in the Wolves favor... OKC lost theirs. To be honest, I thought the Wolves were going to lose both of theirs on sorta technicalities... Bones did have a handful of SGA's shirt and Naz did touch the rim. But I'm not complaining.
- SGA is a superstar. I hate the grifting. But I respect his overall skill.
- Edwards is a superstar. This organization has been around for 37 years. This is one of the better superstar finishes we've seen. A TOUGH three... a block... and a steal on the MVP. Heck, it's the 2nd time in 2 seasons that the Wolves won on a late block by Ant on SGA. (And then there's the block at the end of the Indiana game.)
Edwards is not as good or consistent as SGA or Jokic or Doncic. But he's one bad ass motherfucker... and every Wolves fan is pretty damn lucky to have him to root for. (I wonder if Camden is finally ok with the Wolves taking him over Wiseman. LOL.) He's going to make mistakes (on and off the court). He's going to play hero ball and lose because of it at times. He's going to irritate us.
But how many MN athletes have "it" like Anthony Edwards has? Edwards wouldn't normally be my type of guy... but damn... he's a bad ass motherfucker sometimes. And that can be pretty damn endearing.

To your point on Ant, he's not as consistently good as the guys you mention, but damn in brief bursts he is the best two-way player in the NBA. There is literally no one else in the NBA that can do what he did to close the game out, with the step back 3, the ensuing block on SGA, and then standing him up and getting the poke-away on the perimeter.
Giannis can't make a 3 like that
SGA doesn't make that block
Jokic can't stop SGA on the perimeter
Luka can't make either of the defensive plays
We just gotta live with the other stuff that is maddening about him and relish the sheer greatness that is put on display in big moments like this. It's the front office's responsibility to get him the right supporting cast that compliments his strengths and weaknesses.

Yep, I agree. The defensive intensity was there last night, and it was team wide. We have guys like Jaden and Donte that bring it every night, but we are so much better on defense when our offensive stars (Ant and Ju) bring it on the defensive side too...and they did last night. Bodes well for the playoffs.
It's difficult to be critical after a big win like this, but I need to talk about Ju. His decision making was terrible against Memphis...he continued to try to attack JJJ one on one, and it just wasn't working. And last night he needed to pass more rather than putting up ill advised shots with three guys on him. That's how you end up 3 for 15. In all fairness we don't win the game without his rebounding, tough defense and 16 (!) free throw attempts. But his basketball IQ on the offensive end has slipped the past two games.

Overall he had a very positive impact, but the persistent drives into traffic are a part of a concerning trend.
Interesting, some what related, side note Ant was the only starter who had positive differential between his OffRT and Defeat. Bones and Naz were the only others who did as well

Watched it with my friends last night. What.a.game. We screamed "terrible shot!" when Ant threw up the ending 3, but damn, it's ANT. The defense from him at the end. The second biggest pop of the night was when Rob threw that lob for Gobert.
