Ant with another clutch shot (in this case a driving layup) to close out Milwaukee.

Game balls go to Conley and Rudy (aka Mommy and Daddy). They were the only two that played two good halves of basketball.

At least they could overcome the poor shooting.

Ugh... I wish it was easy to take this team seriously. Two night ago they play incredible playoff intensity basketball for 48 minutes, tonight they think they're too cool to try hard

I’ll take the win. Rudy was terrific. Conley was solid. Shannon and Naz hit some big shots and I thought the momentum changed in our favor when Naz came in for Randle. Credit Finch for that substitution. The offense flows so much better when Naz is in the game instead of Randle.

This team still doesn’t have it all together. I thought tonight’s game was further evidence that the Wolves issue isn’t any particular position, including PG. Rather, it’s this team’s failure to play with consistent intensity. I don’t know what to do about that. We have the talent to be a title contender. The question is whether we have the collective drive to complete at that level. Time will tell. I still like this team.

Finch said a few interesting things in his post-game press conference tonight.

First, he praised Rob’s play in the OKC game. Interestingly, Rob didn’t get any minutes tonight. Conley was very good tonight so I get it but it must be tough for Rob. He does well and then doesn’t play at all. He makes a mistake and he gets yanked. He doesn’t play many minutes and he doesn’t know when or whether he’ll get any minutes game to game. I think Q’s right that the organization should send Rob to Iowa for extended playing time.

Second, Finch said they’ve been playing more guys “for the bigger picture” but that it’s getting to the point in the season when they’ll need to scale back to rotation. So get ready for a repeat of Finch’s 7–8 man rotation. Finch will be Finch.

Third, he said he thought having Conley in a more limited role coming off the bench was hurting his shooting. If Finch thinks limiting an experienced vet to 15-20 minutes hurts his shooting, what does he think about limiting Rob to a sporadic 11 minutes per game? I’m not offering that as an argument to give Rob more minutes; it’s just a window into Finch’s thinking. I question whether we will ever develop our draft picks with Finch as our head coach.

Finch will be Finch. I’m not in any sort of fire Finch frame of mine. I still like him. But do have some doubts about him.

Finch commented on the rotation tonight in his presser: he said we are reaching a point in the season where he'll shrink the rotation so guys minutes can level out. I assume this means so a player isn't stuck with just 5 minutes.

It's pretty clear Dilly is out. And the next victim of a "shrinkage" would be Clark, based on what we've seen in his minutes lately, along with his limited offense. That would leave a bench unit of NAZ, Mike, Bones and Shannon.

Q nailed it...this was a Mommy and Daddy game! Q pointed out Mike's defense, and it was the same thing I noticed...it was like he found the fountain of youth! He looked quick, fought through screens, and just seemed to be in the right place at the right time always. 3 stocks. It was good to see him taking more of a traditional PG role on offense, and it resulted in 6 assists and no turnovers. He earned his +16.

And Rudy was incredible on the defensive end and with his 18 rebounds. He was dominant. And we're now a remarkable 15-5 when he gets at least 6 shots. I wonder if his teammates know this.

The other trend I'm keeping track of is our record when Clark gets 14 minutes. He only played 6 last night (maybe the virus was still limiting him), but we still won...we "improved" to 4-10 when he plays less than 14 minutes.

I wasn't able to watch most of the game
I'm curious about Shannon. Yes he hit some big shots but how else did it look? From what I've seen his shot looks great so it's reasonable to me that he can be an effective 3 point shooter, but what about the defense? Did he impact anything else or was it just the hot shooting?

It's very concerning that such an old prospect is having trouble with the "do stuff" nature of being a rotational player
