I was wrong thread

Post by Wolvesfan21 »

1.) This team would grow and further gel from last year propelling us to 56 wins. Thats not happening. I was wrong.

2.) TJ would blossom and play near all star level status, shooting it better but also playing better defense. His play would help fill in the void last by NAW. Boy I was wrong.

3.) Dilly would step up this year and earn legit backup minutes, Bones Hyland (microwave scorer/minimal defense) is proving that hella wrong. No offense to Bones but I doubt he is the answer long term at backup PG. He's played great for the most part this year, but I fear he'll revert closer to his career averages. Wrong again!

I love a good "I was wrong thread"...I have a lot of material. Let's expand it past the Wolves too:

1) Mike Conley is still good enough to play big minutes as a starting PG...nope.

2) Replacing Thibs with Mike Brown was a huge mistake...there's no chance the Knicks will be as good this year as last. Wrong again...their record is the same after 33 games as last year, despite a lot of injuries to key players.

3) De'Aaron Fox is not a winning player, and the Spurs will regret trading for him. He's been terrific this year.

4) The Pacers will miss Haliburton, but they are still going to be very good. Um, they have worst record in the Association at 6-28.

5) OkC will not play with the same passion they played with last year, and won't repeat as champs. I'm not giving up on this one yet because they are showing some signs of coming back to the pack, but like the Knicks, they have exactly the same record they had through 34 games last year.

6) Our wing depth is good enough with Shannon and Clark to make us forget about NAW.

Anybody else want to enter the confession booth?

1) Rudy is a horrible offensive player. He's not, just needs to be used in the right way.

2) Joan Beringer would be ready for rotational minutes this season. The season isn't over but this looks like a stray too.

I was in the pro TJ camp but I'm not done with him. It seems he has been hurt all year. If he is needed to match salary in a trade though, by all means, trade him.

The rest of the roster is falling about where I expected.

The Suns are better than I thought they would be.

The Lakers have a better record than I thought they would have.

1. I was wrong about putting a good chunk of discretionary investment funds into Treasuries instead of Nvidia. "Too risky!"

2. I was wrong about that weekend getaway to Vegas for a reunion with some old college buddies."Guys, I'm not sure about....oh what the hell!"

3. I was wrong that golf is a leisurely sport. 1st hole - "It's great to be outside! What a beautiful course!"; 8th hole - "Fuck! I hate this game!" (Violently throws club into nearest body of water)

4. I was wrong about Prince and what I thought about him in the 80s, 90s, and Aughts. I can't think of another artist that was a world-class musician, singer, writer (wrote megahits for other artists in addition to his own stuff), and dancer all in one person.

5. I was wrong about TJ Shannon.

I've never loved any Prince songs to be honest, good, not great. I respect his talent and skill he had for sure though.

An accountability thread how exciting!

I thought Dilly would rip the starting PG spot away from Mike from his outstanding play, yikes

Naz taking a defensive leap

NAW being the most replaceable of our core

I sold one of my 1 oz gold coins little over a year ago for $2400 to buy a 1911 .45 pistol. Got plenty more I said, no way gold gets any higher I said.
End of 14’ I paid $1200 per ounce. Today it’s worth $4340.
Oh and I liked Wiseman over Ant in the draft.
