Marc Stein - Hawks are moving Trae AND willing to attach draft capital
Am I still the only one here who wants Trae even with this new information!?

What evidence is this that he's a winning player?BloopOracle wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 6:00 pm Am I still the only one here who wants Trae even with this new information!?

There was that one time trip to the ECF when he was pulling a Reggie Miller act against New York. Other than that, no.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 6:05 pmWhat evidence is this that he's a winning player?BloopOracle wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 6:00 pm Am I still the only one here who wants Trae even with this new information!?

I struggle to find any trade that can work salary wise for the Wolves...
Re: Marc Stein - Hawks are moving Trae AND willing to attach draft capital
I'm mildly interested, however, it would require a bigger commitment from Ant on defense
AND
The salary matching will be a bitch. Rudy or Julius HAS to be in the deal. Rudy seems like someone you would want to have with Trae so that leaves Julius plus 16 million and a sizable hole up front. Mike and Rob get you there but the team will be badly size depleted and would likely mean Jaden to the 4, Ant to the 3 just to keep our meager bench of Naz intact. Could TJ and Lenny be cobbled together to a third team for some more size or does Lenny step into a real role?

Thank god! Atlanta is desperate to move Trae, so I can understand why they may think they have to attach draft capital to get someone to take him off their hands. The strongest rumor I've heard is that he is going to Washington in a deal centered around McCollum's expiring contract. Wow...

Sigh. Behold the Washington Wizards. Here is an Eastern Conference team that seemingly NEVER makes a big move to pull legit talent away from the Western Conference and just stays on the losing treadmill year after year, but now they want to make a big deal!?! For Trae Young!?FNG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 8:51 pmThank god! Ha, I know! But in a way it might be the perfect deal. He's made Atlanta worse, but he can't make the Wizards worse, can he? And maybe he rediscovers his game and provides some entertainment for a fan base that really needs it. I could see this deal happening.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:13 pmSigh. Hard to believe that he's led a team to the Eastern Conference Finals, so he's obviously very talented, but it just feels like now more than ever he needs a hyper-specific set of guys around him to make it work. But yeah, I guess if you own the Wizards and nothing else works, at least this will help boost ticket revenue for a month or two.FNG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:21 pmHa, I know! The Wizards just unloaded Jordan Poole a few months ago after two seasons with the club.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:13 pmSigh. Behold the Washington Wizards. Who knew they missed him so much that they'd double down on that type of player.
