Yep, and tonight we just didn't shoot well. We missed 33 treys...4 more than Utah took in total! We also got beat on too many back cuts, but I'm sure Finchy will beat them up for that.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 10:33 pmObviously a bad loss but I believe the wolves have the second best win % against teams under 500 this year. Number 5 in clutch win % and number 1 in ATO scoring.Crazysauce wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 10:25 pm This loss is literally inexcusable. I don't know what Finch has to do to lose his job but apparently he's untouchable in Minnesota.

Acting like shooting was the reason we lost this game is crazy. Did we watch the same game? The effort was appalling. The Jazz shot at 55 percent from the floor. We played like we just had to show up and we would win. It's just totally unacceptable. We have too many losers on this team. No true competitior would be laughing it up after this loss. That's nuts.

Lakers are coming back on the Nuggets. I do believe a Lakers win drops the Wolves into the Play-in. Ugh!

Conley can only be removed from Finch by either trading him or finding someone that clearly deserves all his minutes (e.g. Tre Jones). And the Bones experiment is starting to fizzle as well, making it all the more imperative.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 10:37 pm We've reached a point where it shouldn't happen, but Tim also has to remove Conley from Finch. It's done. There's no reason for him to log minutes anymore.
This bench is awful and Finch and Tim have to do one of three things
1. grit their teeth and deal with Rob
2. get help via trade
3. make another NAW and put that brain to work and find someone they can build up. Conley can no longer be an option. I'd rather watch Leonard Miller play and he has the kind of game that is aesthetically disgusting to watch.
That being said, while we could point to the bench for tonight's loss, the starters should have more than taken care of business. Jaden had five or six turnovers, Ant took a gazillion shots and was getting beat on cuts, Randle was pretty bad on both ends most of the game, and Rudy goes 1-5 on his FTs. DDV wasn't great either, but I have lower expectations for him since he's really the 5th man on the totem pole amongst the starters in terms of salaries.
Terrible loss, but it's an 82-game season with plenty of opportunities to make up for it.
On a positive note, Beringer once again was active and productive in his one first half stint. If he keeps this up, Tim Connelly may have more options at the trade deadline than he thought a couple weeks ago....

They are just trying to convince SloMo to come back after his buyout….Crazysauce wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 10:50 pm Acting like shooting was the reason we lost this game is crazy. I don’t disagree with you, but this is common in the nba. Like the wolves coming into to tonight’s game had the 2nd least amount of bad losses in the nba. Am I upset that we lost, of course but statistically the wolves have been good at the things people complain about finch about (bad losses, clutch time and out of timeout scoring)Crazysauce wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 10:50 pm Acting like shooting was the reason we lost this game is crazy. Tonight is one of those nights that reinforces to me that no matter how good Julius may look, even at his best, I'll never trust him.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 10:53 pmConley can only be removed from Finch by either trading him or finding someone that clearly deserves all his minutes (e.g. Tre Jones). When a player is cooking us like that, you need to start double teaming him. Make someone else beat you. Every team doubles Ant for at least a portion of the game. We refuse to do it and let guys like George and Cam Thomas just dice up our one one defense.
