Trade season

Although unlikely, I think trading Julius makes the most sense.

His value will likely never be higher, and could head south really fast if this team implodes.

Jaden needs more touches offensively and Naz deserves the opportunity to be our starting PF. Behringer looks more than capable of backing up Gobert. Leonard Miller could flourish in more minutes too.

Randle could be moved for a legit staring guard, or a decent starter and rotation player/s with pick compensation.

If this team cant afford to play Rob and TJ then it cant afford to play Conley either. We are not a contender. We are 6 deep and that is not the way the NBA is going. I dont feel Finch is really bringing anything innovative to this situation. Id rather see some wholesale changes to start happening now including moving on from Finch. Id be fine to take a dip to retool this team. Conley and Rudy have served us well but its not going to get better for either of them. Im ready for the Ant, Jaden, Naz era to start for real.

Agree. That’s where was at the end of last season. I later jumped on the continuity bandwagon but I’ve seen enough this season to realize that wagon isn’t heading in the direction of a championship. So I’m back to retooling around Ant, Jaden and Naz and going all in on Wolves 2.0. Donte may or may not be part of the next iteration of this team. We need to go all in on assessing and developing Rob, Beringer, Shannon and Clark the remainder of this season in my view. We need to move Randle and we should definitely consider moving Rudy.

I agree. I still think we should wait until the off-season before making any major moves but you make a good point about Randle’s value perhaps being at its peak and potentially declining by the end of the season if things go south. So I think the Wolves should probably be exploring possible Randle trades before the deadline. Maybe there’s a team that believe Randle is just what they need to get over the hump this season.

The player we get in return would most likely be a younger less proven player who is more of a win-tomorrow than a win-now player. I don’t see why a team would give up a win-now player to get Randle who is clearly a win-now player. TC should be thinking about swapping Randle for a young player who is on the threshold of becoming really good but who isn’t as highly valued by his current team. That’s what the elite basketball executives do. They see what other GMs don’t and take advantage of it. Sort of like Paul George for SGA deal but the player we get doesn’t have to become the next SGA because have Ant.

Naz is not good enough to be a centerpiece of a core and Jaden might be too passive to be part of one too. Too many games this season where Jaden can easily grab the bull by the horns and put in work on offense and it doesn't happen. There isn't a guy on this team besides Ant or Randle who on any given night can go off for 30 or 40.

I'm not against trading Naz for the right player or players one day, but Naz is good enough be part of a championship core. If Wiggins can fit into Golden State to win a title, Naz is fine.
