That's a real interesting proposal! We would have to include Dilly to make salaries work from our side, but Boston can't take back more salary either, so a third team would be needed to take Dilly. This would move NAZ into the starting lineup and leave us thin in the frontcourt, so TC would need to somehow add another big. Maybe that SloMo buyout?

It's worth entertaining. I wonder how Boston would take it?
I would be surprised if Boston saw value in the Randle/Tatum/Brown fit

Yeah, not sure if Boston would be interested. Looking at their roster, they need a PF. Right now have a lot of guards. A guy can dream I guess. 😊

Totally makes sense Dilly would need to be included. I’m fine with that!

Kyrie has never been available.
Remember when Kyrie was a Cav and there was this list of teams he was willing to go to and we were one of them supposedly?

It was us, the Spurs, the Knicks and Heat\
So, I just noticed last night that Randle wore shoes that matched the Mavs' uniform color. Plus Dallas is his home town and his Mom was able to attend the game. Maybe a Kyrie trade is not so farfetched! :D

Interesting, but I would not. It actually might be one of the few possible trades involving Randle that would actually make our defense worse!

Marc Stein reporting Giannis has specifically targeted playing with Ant Man to be high on his wishlist. This sure ain't my son's, father's Timberwolves anymore. 8-)

Not surprising, I think a lot of players would love to play with Edwards, and I see that as a big advantage for us in free agency after Rudy is gone.
Does it really matter though what Giannis wants? He doesn't have a no trade clause, and even if teams say they want to "do right" by their star, the Bucks are going to take the best offer they get. And I don't see the Wolves giving up anything close to what the Bucks can get from other teams.

Giannis's preference does matter. After next season he has a player option, so if his agent is clear with Milwaukee and Franchise X that Giannis does NOT want to play for Franchise X, it may affect the quality of offer they make to Milwaukee knowing that he won't be happy there and won't re-sign. That doesn't mean Franchise X won't still make the best offer, but it could reduce the odds. Plus Milwaukee probably wants to do right by Giannis for reasons that go just beyond goodwill of the subject. Agents remember these things....

Ah good point, Q. Yeah, no team would want to give up assets for Giannis unless they knew they could retain him. I don't know if anyone on the board has thought about what Giannis's next contract will look like and what the Wolves would have to do to stay under the second apron.

To me it doesn't really matter though...I think an offense with Rudy and Giannis would be really difficult to watch.

Yes, if Giannis really chose the Wolves he could certainly scare off Golden State who stands to lose valuable future picks in a trade. Mike Dunleavy said he isnt interested in a rental for his picks. Miami might not care as much at renting Giannis but would probably be reluctant to hand out their remaining picks to do so. I don't think NY would be a rental team but they probably can't beat a Wolves offer.

It would seem Giannis' preference will have a big influence on what happens.

I think Rudy and Giannis can work together even though it's not the perfect fit. Whatever is lost in offensive synergy is more than made up by their rebounding and paint protection. And it's not like Randle and Rudy don't get in each other's way with some of Randle's mud runs into the paint. Most teams give Randle the 3-point shot, just like they'd give it to Giannis.

I think the Wolves would make other moves to buttress their guard depth and get Ant at SF in the event Randle and Jaden were sent out as part of the deal. They'd still have DDV at SG and [insert second player to be traded for] at PG. It would be one of the lower key options like Coby White or Pippen Jr., etc. Or may be even Ryan Rollins!
