Heh, yeah, I didn't really update it to account for some of the changes either. A couple of these guys have already been traded or bought out!

But is there any doubt left that Connelly has to do something about the bench guard situation before the deadline??? I mean, he has to address whether we get Giannis or not. It's that big of a problem.

Memphis has a bunch of point guards, I'll take Pippen or Ty Jerome from them.

BTW, assuming no Giannis, my money is on Malik Monk. The question is whether TC pulls it off without touching the core 6..

Two very different archetypes.

Ty Jerome is such an interesting case to me. He was just sort of cruising along as a mediocre bench guard for multiple years and then - Bam! - last season with Cleveland he suddenly became this hooper off the bench in his age 27 season. He's looking even better now with Memphis!

So, checking into this a bit more... Sacramento has open roster spots since they just made a 3-for-1 deal. Malik Monk for Mike, Dilly and Lenny works! Sacramento gets rid of future money (Monk has 2 more years left), and gets a trial on Dilly (and Lenny). The teams can bicker over who should give up a 2nd rounder. But I think this deal gets done!

I'm all in on a Malik Monk deal. Don't know what Sacramento gets out of that deal though. It's not like Monk is eating up the cap sheet or anything.

And none of those guys are NBA players right now. And there's a lot of doubt they will be in the future. I have to think that if they want to move from Monk... there are much better deals out there other than the answer to a math question.

Not going to happen and if it does it won't move the needle for the Wolves. Maybe the Kings will buy Monk out and then I might be interested, but if we can't do better than Malik Monk in a trade deadline deal then let's just wait until the off season.

Umm.. Malik Monk is basically NAZ as a guard. He would have beaten NAZ out for 6-man if not for an injury towards the end of that season. NAZ and Monk as the 6th and 7th men would be a damn good combo.

The only reason TC might have a shot at Malik is because of the turmoil in Sacramento, their pivot to rebuilding, and Malik being under contract for 2 more years beyond this season. Malik would be a needle mover for the Wolves because he adds scoring punch in an area that the Wolves are sorely lacking.

COOL!

I underestimated the PROMISE OF HOPE(r) that fans of bad teams have to use to cope with constant disappointment.

Has it really been that long that I've lost touch with universal Wolves fan coping mechanisms? Damn.
