Re: Trade season
I've been waiting to share this until it became a bit more realistic. But as most of you know I've been a Bucks fan since the 70's, so I've seen an awful lot of Giannis. He is a truly great player with the MJ and Kobe level competitiveness that could elevate the Wolves to favorite status depending on what is going out. He has two weaknesses, free throw shooting and he's not a great game finisher. But when you have Ant, he doesn't need to have the ball at the end of games. But Giannis is such an anchor that he would be our alpha and best player, and Ant would be easily the best #2 in the league. And I think that's where Ant needs to be to win a title. My main point here is if we can land Giannis, you are in for a treat as I'm not sure you realize how great he is.

Its incredible to think that could be our twosome.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:04 pm I've been waiting to share this until it became a bit more realistic. Re: Trade season
Supposedly Windy said Coby was available to the Wolves in the Mike trade but they have other plans
Re: Trade season
Very interesting. Happy TC passed on Coby. I do think we’ll end up with Giannis. If we end up getting Giannis I probably won’t like the deal given what we’d likely give up to get him and my misgivings about his health as well as the track record of failed big-game acquisitions. However, I love Giannis and will be relieved it’s not James Harden.
Re: Trade season
I feel the same Lip. The greatest part of potentially acquiring Giannis is how it would take Ant to the next level. Giannis brings it every night. Some would argue Ant doesn't. Add KG in the ownership group and we would some real dogs in this organistation.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:20 pmVery interesting. Happy TC passed on Coby. I’ve mentioned a lot that I think we have the talent to contend for a championship but lack the mentality - the intensity and mental toughness. Well, Giannis brings both great talent and great intensity. If we’re going to big game hunt for a 30-something veteran star, Giannis is the guy to pursue.
My biggest wish is that TC can pull it off without losing Jaden and to a lesser extent Naz.
Re: Trade season
Oh, I definitely know how great Giannis is...if healthy. But that is a huge if. He's likely out until early March with a calf injury, and calf injuries are notoriously slow to heal and quick to recur...heck, it's already recurred once this season. If he were healthy, I could live with giving up Jaden and Ju. Rudy/Naz/Giannis/Donte/Ant would be the best starting lineup in the Association. But what after that? Bones as 6th man and Miller as 7th. Even worse, slip Miller into the starting lineup for Giannis at least until early March.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:04 pm I've been waiting to share this until it became a bit more realistic. I've heard reports that the Bucks will also want us to take Kuzma's contract if they agree to trade us Giannis. Kuzma is not a terrible player, but I don't like his $25 million contract. Would that mean Naz is gone too, along with 1 or 2 young guys.
I'm not sure TC would love either of the trades above given Giannis's injury. So I have to wonder what else he has up his sleeve to make this better.
Re: Trade season
This could be another reason they are going after Giannis. Besides the obvious Top 3 or 4 production he provides when healthy, he probably raises the level of professionalism and effort that can wax and wane with Randle and Ant. Obviously we aren't giving up Ant, so if it's Randle + Others OUT and Giannis IN, there is a huge net increase in the Nightly Effort Quotient (NEQ for shortLipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:20 pmVery interesting. If Jaden is kept out of it, I'll be fine with whoever is in it.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:20 pmVery interesting. Happy TC passed on Coby. I do think we’ll end up with Giannis. If TC could get Giannis while keeping Ant and Jaden he will be GOATED. Re: Trade season
Windhorst on NBA Today said, none of the trades announced today are finalized until the deadline, and can expand, add players, and or teams. I wouldn't be surprised if no big trade happens Coby or Ayo ends up getting included in that deal. Unless the Wolves want ditch the luxury tax entirely to restart the repeater tax clock in which case they will try to dump Rob as well.
