to me a solution would be to start Ayo but then Donte starts moping.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:33 pmThe Clippers game had a similar vibe with the new guy. Didn't say he was, but a solution to helping Ayo would be to start him, but then Donte goes into a shell if that ever happens.Leado01 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:57 pmDonte is not the issueWildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:51 pmto me a solution would be to start Ayo but then Donte starts moping.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:33 pm

Lakers and Nuggets both lose. Perfect opportunity for us tonight and we blow it. I don't care if Naz and Gobert were out. 76ers were missing several players also. Two "all stars" vs one.

Donte does not like coming off the bench. He has made issues about it on every team he has played for.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 9:15 pmDidn't say he was, but a solution to helping Ayo would be to start him, but then Donte goes into a shell if that ever happens.Leado01 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:57 pmDonte is not the issueWildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:51 pm

On paper you're right, there was a big disparity in their 3 point shooting. Philly hit a lot contested threes and the Wolves missed good looks.60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:30 pmWhile it’s true they played last night, they really shot the ball unbelievably well. We needed a poor shooting night from them to have a chance, but it wasn’t to be. Tough loss considering the task at hand
The reality tho is that they got out hustled and out competed against a shorthanded team on a road back to back.
If they had lost close I wouldn't be bother but the fact that they continue to show this same caviler, we can flip the switch when we need to, approach at this stage of the season speaks volumes.
They have a chance to rewrite that narrative in the post all star portion of the season, and two games in its not promising and it's seems more likely it's just who they are. Which is disappointing cause this team can beat anybody, but refuse to take that seriously every night

I thought the Wolves came out with pretty decent energy to start the game, but the Sixers just freakin' made everything. It can be deflating.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 11:19 pmOn paper you're right, there was a big disparity in their 3 point shooting. I go back to my mini-theory that the inherent variability of 3-point shooting and its prominence in the game leads to more unexpected wins and losses than if there were no 3-point line. I mean, 50+ percent from 3 on that kind of volume is pretty tough to overcome.
Meanwhile, the Randle/Jaden shooting woes from 3 continue. The 45% from Jaden on the season was perhaps a bit illusory, but hopefully he finds the groove again.
Ayo through five games with a Net Rating of -10.9 with the Wolves and -4.5 on the season if you include the Bulls. At what point can this not be explained away or excused as statistically flukish?

I didn't notice anything egregious when he was out there. There was one really bad stint with Bone where they were -21 in several minutes between the end of the first quarter and the 2nd quarter. Bone missed 2 wide open threes in that span, Shannon missed a wide open three, we had a few turnovers. I noticed Ayo was playing fantastic defense, fighting through screens and defenders hit some really tough shots over him. VJ hit a falling off balance three where he landed on the floor trying to draw contact, and Jim Pete said something like you can't play better defense on that one. I'll have to pay more attention if he's doing something on defense or offense that is hurting the team.

When everyone is active for the Wolves, we can play with any team in the Association. But when Rudy is out, we are middle of the pack at best. Ant and Ju are our best scorers, but we can still be competitive when one of them is out. Not true with Rudy. And since he's not going to be part of Ant 2.0, my optimism about the future is muted after seeing how we look without Rudy.
The mystery of why teams Ayo are usually outscored when he is on the court continues...a team-worst -25 in 28 minutes. Seriously? This is something that is impossible to ignore now, and I'm still clueless as to why his teams perform so poorly when he is playing.

I hear you, and I don't disagree that they played with requisite energy in the 1st half and honestly just caught a few bad breaks. They even came out at the start of 2nd with good energy and got the game close. Then there was a stretch, I don't remember exactly when it was, where they barely ran any offense and chucked and missed about five 3s while giving up several on the other end- they pretty much folded it up after that and it was just really disappointing to watch them act like the Philly defense was impenetrable (they're not).Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Feb 23, 2026 7:59 amI thought the Wolves came out with pretty decent energy to start the game, but the Sixers just freakin' made everything. After that they didn't try hard to get stops and were completely out hustled and I just find that to be an alarming lack of character
