When does Finch get shown the exit?
Didn't see this anywhere and am surprised, but after playing Conley 15 minutes last night Finch commented how great he played and how he should have got him more minutes. What the actual f......? He clearly has lost his damn mind. Not to mention this team. What will it take for him to get the boot?

after next season,
but he does wind up on the hot seat next year.
He's not gonna get fired this summer because even Connelly doesn't believe he has the necessary roster to win a title.

We had 6 guys last night with a -10 to -25, and Mike wasn't one of them. Finch was just trying to find any lineup that gave him anything last night.

A change isn't going to make Rudy stop getting flagrant fouls, Randle stop moping, deliver a point guard we so badly need, and improve our bench. I'd like to see Finchy change some things, most notably get some more movement in our offense and actually hit a cutter occasionally. But I don't think Chris is the problem.

A change should be able to fix all of those issues you listed, and I would start with ANY movement on the offensive end. This team is void of any type of offensive system, and clearly no discipline whatsoever. If Randle is moping, sit his ass, if Rudy continues with flagrant fouls sit him as well. Change the starting lineup, make it clear that nobody's minutes and rotation position are guaranteed.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 24, 2026 12:07 am A change isn't going to make Rudy stop getting flagrant fouls, Randle stop moping, deliver a point guard we so badly need, and improve our bench. The only time I can remember a coach relying so heavily on his star player was when Doug Collins was coaching MJ. Phil Jackson came in and put a structured offense in place and taught MJ how to incorporate his teammates early to ensure he had 4th quarter energy required to finish games. It is the coaches job to design a system around the talent of the team, as well as find a way to develop the younger guys to expand his bench. FInch doesn't do these things.
In response to the lack of a championship roster, this is as good as it going to get without developing players. We have maxed out our resources, and have very little to show for it. Connelly just traded four second round picks along with Dillingham for a guy we will be forced to overpay in the off season. Connelly should be shown the door with Finch.

Anthony Edwards gave two different postgame interviews celebrating Finch over the past few days.
If his take is genuine and he's a true fan behind the scenes... Finch is safe.

I think Ant is the guy that continues to talk up coaches and teammates right up until the day he walks out the door stating he wants to win a title.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Tue Feb 24, 2026 10:07 am Anthony Edwards gave two different postgame interviews celebrating Finch over the past few days.

2nd round picks mean nothing, and can be easily bought for cash if needed. Rob was a big miss for Tim though, and you do have to sign Ayo because of that move. Hopefully Ayo when given more than 5 games with the team, can mesh well with our team needs. On paper, he is the right player type we needed, but he does need to win those minutes even if he's out there with Bones and Bones is having a bad night. Our overall depth has taken a hit the past few years, as we lose talent to cap casualties. It really is a shame we didn't have this roster 8 years ago, and couldn't have had a significant run without apron cap restraints.mjs34 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 24, 2026 9:56 amA change should be able to fix all of those issues you listed, and I would start with ANY movement on the offensive end. Re: When does Finch get shown the exit?
Just for context this is the 5th best start through 58 games in franchise history through 37 seasons. 2nd best start in the last 23 years. 2nd best start in the finch era.
I said this in the other thread but we are bored and frustrated with regular season success due to 7 of the top 8 being the same and nothing new to watch for the last 150+ games.

I'm pretty certain he's out of here at some point...
