Zyon Pullin back in action, picking up where he left off before his wrist injury. 33 points and 7 assists. We have an open 2-way slot, right? Give it to the man!

Here are Joan's highlights...what I like about the 20 points is the variety in which they came. They aren't all dunks and it appears he is starting to develop some better touch with some finesse shots here.

His top of the key drive to a slow euro and finish got me so excited.

No doubt. Or how about that first push shot in the lane? And that's not the first time I've seen him make that shot, something Hartenstein has perfected over the years and you see Rudy practicing but very rarely converting in real games.

We lost the game unfortunately, but won Joan's minutes, as he was the only Wolves player with a positive +/-.

I want to be excited about Joan, but I'm keeping my optimism in check. I'll add these comments:

1) The G League is substantially different from the NBA.

2) Leonard Miller consistently put up dominant stats in the G League comparable or better to what Joan is putting up.

3) We've all seen Joan and Leonard in NBA action, and it's clear neither is ready for real minutes yet.

4) Both are still young though (Miller 22, Beringer 19), so we don't know for sure how they will end up. I will say though Joan has a better chance to be a rotation player because he just hasn't played much basketball yet.

One big difference in their G-League stats is that Joan has a much better Net Rating than Leonard and that has a lot to do with his defensive impact, which doesn't show up as much in the box score stats.

Both Q and I have watched most of Joan's games with Iowa. The first game displayed a guy who looked like he was trying to "find his way". But every game there after was a noticeable improvement over the previous game. It's unlikely to manifest itself this season with the big club, but Joan will be an impactful player for the Wolves in the coming years. It will be fun watching his continued development, and just where his ceiling might be.
