Don’t know how much people will care but the gophers woman got a top 16 overall seed on the ncaa tournament and that means they will host the first 2 rounds of the ncaa tournament.
I’ve watched them more than the gophers more than the wolves this year. I recommend packing it barn next weekend. They start 4 local Minnesota talents and have 5 scorers who score more than 10 points a game.
Just recommend this fun team.
OT: Gophers women’s basketball
Re: OT: Gophers women’s basketball
Was at the first round game. They were down 4 going to the 4th but won the 4th 30-9. Was the second loudest event I’ve ever been at the barn was rocking.
Just saying they play at the barn at 1 on Sunday for a trip to the sweet 16. Tickets are really cheap.

I'm definitely going to watch it, pretty cool that we have home court advantage for the first two games of the tourney.

Glad you were there geek. It was a fun watch... for a patient person.
It felt like everyone (including players) were waiting for everything to take off. Then, finally... it did and it was a groundswell.
Fun hearing the anticipatory cheers/groans/yells throughout that 4th quarter. Some of those girls stuck around when others wouldn't and they played with a bounce/excitement/anxiousness that showed how much they wanted it. Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow after that emotional release.
[Note: The broadcast was LESS THAN STELLAR. They talked extensively about Lindsey Whalen twice, even showing her in the crowd. They went through her resume both times... but missed that she was the previous coach and recruited and coached many of the players on the court. Seems like a pretty big and relevant part of the story, right?]

Gophers hit a shot with .8 seconds left to send the gophers to the sweet 16. In probably the loudest sporting event I’ve ever been to
