Iowa wins 132-106

Beringer - 29 minutes, 18 pts on 8-12 shooting, 19 rebs, 2 assts, 2 steals, +20
Phillips - 30 minutes, 19 pts on 8-22 shooting, 6 rebs, 2 assts, 3 TOs, +14
Pullin - 25 minutes, 16 points on 5-8 shooting, 7 assists, 2 TOs, +38
Freeman - 27 minutes, 14 points on 7-10 shooting, 3 blks, +36

The Iowa squad has struggled defensively in the last three games, but Phillips really helped set the tone on that end. So while his offense was pretty rough, he is a legit NBA defender. Pullin, who is averaging nearly 30 PPG, largely deferred in this game, indulging Phillips and basically being more of a game-manager.

Zyon Pullin highlights from his 40-point game last night. The big league team could have used some of his shot making!

I think he could be on the roster next season as a 3rd string guard, essentially taking the role Mike Conley did post-trade deadline when he was re-signed.

It will be interesting to see if a team including the Wolves will be willing to give him an NBA deal or if they are able to keep him on the 2-way deal. It's worth remembering that the 2-way deal ain't a bad gig and you are accruing NBA service time plus the team pays for your housing. Idk what a downtown condo costs in Minneapolis but that has to be a nice chunk of money and I'm guessing they take care of all your utilities too.

I'd guess he is on the Summer league roster and that might be where he can cement his case for an NBA contract. I'll be there to see it. :)

As for what role he might have next year he could be a different version of Bones Hyland (when Bones was outside the rotation trying to make his way on) but a power guard with more physicality to guard guys. I'd guess Bones is gonna want to resign and the Wolves will want to as well but how much of a raise will he get? Could some team throw some pretty good money at him and the Wolves need a new guy? Could Pullin be part of the answer there?
