Naz is in the 76th percentile defensively according to estimated plus-minus, which is pretty crazy considering historically how he's done. His defensive rating is 2nd to Rudy among the top 8 in the rotation. So the more comprehensive defensive stats are pretty positive as well.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 12:13 pm Best Isolation Defenders in the NBA (min. 60 possessions)

30.6% FG — Andrew Wiggins (MIA)
31.1% FG — Nic Claxton (BKN)
32.8% FG — Naz Reid (MIN)
34.6% FG — Dean Wade (CLE)
This does not take in to consideration fouling but credit to Naz. He has been playing good ball lately.

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
Well since Ant's playmaking is somewhat the topic du jour I went over to https://apanalytics.shinyapps.io/DARKO/ which is a nice tool that lets compare historical career trajectories of multiple players in a chosen stat.
I compared Ant's asst/100 to multiple similar players and what was really surprising - and bizarre - it's that almost every player experienced a negative regression in assist around a similar age; 23-25 before having positive regression back toward their career trend lines.
It's unfortunate we can't embed images here to show y'all.
I compared:
Devin Booker
Shai Gilgesous Alexander
Jalen Brunsen
Jamal Murray
Luka Donnic
Lebron James
James Harden
All but the last two had steady growth the first few years with a dip and back up with steady growth.
Harden and James just have had steady growth as playmakers
Point of note is that every player here has had higher asst/100 throughout their career except for Shai briefly at the beginning of his career, but the trend line is super consistent across these players.
Who knows why this is the case, it may not mean anything but tis interesting nonetheless

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
Here is the 70-game update.
PER - Very much individual box-score driven and rewards volume more than efficiency. Doesn't really account for defense. This tends to reward higher usage offensive players and guys that get lots of counting stats.
WS/48 - Combines individual box-score stats with team performance; tends to reward efficiency as much as volume; tries to apportion team performance to individual players, so a great team defense for example tends to lift all boats (or weight them down if the defense is poor).
VORP - Value over Replacement Player. This extrapolates from box score stats and takes into account actual minutes played, so it helps recognize that starters have to carry a bigger load.
Net Rating - Team points per 100 possessions minus opponent points per 100 possessions while player is on the floor, per NBA.com.
Player (in order of total minutes played) - PER/WS48/VORP/Net Rating
Randle - 19.1/.149/2.2/+4.2
Jaden - 13.9/.110/.9/+4.0
DDV - 13.2/.114/1.7/+7.5
Rudy - 17.6/.178/1.6/+5.8
Ant - 22.3/.156/3.6/+3.4
Naz - 16.2/.113/1.6/+3.4
Ayo - 14.4/.124/0.2/+-0.0 (neutral!)
Bones - 15.1/.132/+5.1
SloMo - 10.8/.114/.1/+.7

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
- Biggest update is that Ayo is no longer a net negative when on the floor, yes! The +/- gods finally begin to yield to the eye test. As you can see, his other advanced stats are solid. He's extremely efficient in both shooting and taking care of the ball and I could definitely see him being promoted to our starting PG next season given his Asst:TO ratio and the ability to make things happen off the bounce and in the paint, which DDV struggles with.
- Jaden, Naz, and Julius have all trended negatively over the past ~ 15- 30 games depending on the player. Hopefully these last couple of games will snap them out of it.
- Bones continues to justify his place in the rotation and has been a massive upgrade to Rob Dillingham.
- SloMo has had a solid start and Finch didn't even budge last night in upping his minutes instead of turning to Beringer to help out in Naz's absence.

For context. 15PER, is considered league average.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2026 7:54 am Here is the 70-game update.

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
That's right, with the caveat that it doesn't really account for individual or team defense, which doesn't show up in the box score directly. So PER tends to undervalue Jaden and Rudy's overall impact on winning.Mnwild1128 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 11:10 pmFor context. 15PER, is considered league average.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2026 7:54 am Here is the 70-game update.

Still, all of the league MVPs and all-NBA first teamers past and present are elite in PER.
Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
After 10 games, SloMo leads the regular rotation players in Defensive Rating at 101.9 (meaning him and the other four guys he's out there with give up 101.9 points per 100 possessions).
He's been exactly what Finch wanted in the non-Rudy minutes and then some.

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
Way to go, Tim! That defensive rating lines up with what I'm seeing too...not only is he long and smart, but the SloMo rep he has on offense doesn't fit his reasonable quickness on defense. He's a joy to watch play defense! I'll mention too that his favorable defensive on/off of 10.1 trails only Rudy (11.1), and his overall on/off of 7.3 trails only Donte (8.1) among rotation players...far ahead of the rest of the pack.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2026 10:56 am After 10 games, SloMo leads the regular rotation players in Defensive Rating at 101.9 (meaning him and the other four guys he's out there with give up 101.9 points per 100 possessions).

Re: Individual Stats Tracker 2025-26 Season
A few stats.
14 of the last 15 NBA champions have ranked in the top 6 in regular season TS%, with the only exception being the 2020 Lakers in 9th. The top 6 this season all play in the Western Conference (Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers, Thunder, Timberwolves, Spurs)
Players Shooting 50/40/80 Or Better In The 2025-26 NBA Regular Season (Min. 500 Total FGA) :
Ayo Dosunmu — 51.7/44.5/86.0
Jaden McDaniels — 51.7/41.6/84.2
Kevin Durant — 51.7/40.8/88.5
If you drop that to 49/40/79 only one more player gets added to that list, Ant.
For Ant, he has not only improved his points per game every season in the league, his TS% has increased every season as well.
