He did it with SGA's flopping, and at least at first, it seemed to get their attention. And now he's doing it with Wemby's blocks, saying 1/3 of them were goaltending. Let's hope it gets in Wemby's head, and especially in the ref crew's.

It's Scott Foster tonight. Normally that's not a good thing for the Wolves. But he loves the limelight, and calling goaltending on Wemby is a great way to bask in it!
It's playing the long game with Wemby. Keep making him think, keep leaning on him, keep forcing the Spurs to play him 35+ MPG which he's never done before. Even if we lose tonight, a key sub-goal has to be to keep forcing Wemby to work his tail off and play big minutes. It should eventually pay dividends later in the series.
Agreed he played 40 minutes once this year in an overtime loss to Denver near the end of the season, and he played just 16 minutes the next game. He played 39 minutes in a game in March and just 22 minutes the next game. Wear him down, keep making him contest shots, keep bumping into him, destroy San Antonio when Wemby sits with non stop attacks to the basket and force them to bring him back in with little rest.

I missed two games in real time in the Denver series the Wolves lost both games. While I refused to spring the bucks for Peacock in game 1 at the Spurs, I did listen to Horton on the radio in real time. Unfortunately, I will not be watching tonight’s game in real time (going to the Harry Potter play). So, I guess I’ll take the blame if we lose tonight…

I see Ayo is in tonight. Can someone start the GDT?!?

Another interesting pod from LockedOnSpurs yesterday. They are seriously concerned about our size and this series. They mentioned something I was not aware of...the spurs have lost 7 consecutive games in Minnesota. I was surprised that they spent the first several minutes talking about their defensive struggles...they held us to 102 points and Wemby set an NBA playoff record! Once they got into the Spurs' offense though, it got more interesting. They credited Rudy and Julius with not letting Wemby get to his spots and forcing him to shoot 3-pointers.

But here's the main thing I learned that I didn't know...Fox is the Spur's whipping boy, both with the fans and with the press. They think his defense is terrible, and even said the Spurs might go primarily with Harper and Castle in the backcourt if Fox doesn't start scoring more. But they also talked about his ability to bounce back after a bad game. Apparently Camara (who they liken to Jaden) made Fox look really bad in Game 2, and Fox was really getting ripped by Spurs' fans. But he bounced back and had a decent series. I think Jaden is a better defender than Camara, so I think he will continue to make things tough for Fox.

Tim, you can get a free 7-day trial of Peacock with a Prime subscription. That's how I got it. I plan on dropping it before the 7-days are up and crossing my fingers that I won't need it again!

And you are missing tonight because of....a play!? I'm revoking your man-card until the game on Friday and you will need to pay a fine that will go to the Midwest Volleyball charitable fund that we have yet to start. You can provide the seed money.

Another interesting note on Fox: despite his tenure in the league, he came into these playoffs with only one playoff series under his belt back in 2023 with Sacramento. They were the higher seed, but lost to Golden State in a game 7.

The Spurs are lacking a lot of playoff experience.

You’re going to have to fine me too, Q…I’m going to see Sleuth at the Guthrie. Got the DVR fired up though so I’ll be watching much later!

While Fox is a good player, when has he ever been someone that truly instilled fear in an opposing defense? He just played his 13th career playoff game (he's been in the league for 9 seasons) and is averaging 18.5PPG in these playoffs. He's a nice player, but yeah, I can see why the Spurs fans aren't enamored with him.

Castle and Harper are the future along with Wemby, but those guys are all so young. The Spurs might still win the series, but if they do lose, surely their relative youth and inexperience (same with the coach) will be a big point of discussion, and perhaps consolation too. We may be the team that puts them through NBA Playoff Bootcamp, only for them to take off next year and beyond!

Wait, FNG is also missing the game tonight too because of a play!? Inconceivable! That's two man-cards revoked and two fines paid to the GoFundMe page I'm setting up for a Free Throw guru to come in and help Rudy and Julius.

BTW, I'm going to miss game 5 because I'll be on a golf trip with non-Wolves fans friends. But that's on the list of exemptions!

I’m appealing for an exemption. A gal I just started dating got play tickets for tonight…she likes hockey and the Wild, but probably cant name 4 players on the Wolves. I think my excuse is way better than Tim’s.
