Wolves can't get Giannis unless they gut the team of everything of value other than Ant (Jaden, Beringer, DDV, every remaining pick of value and whatever assets Gobert and Naz can bring back) and I still think teams like the Warriors can top the Wolves.

Joe Ingles - good luck in Australia.

DiVincenzo - I can’t see him back playing for us. He’s an expiring contract at this point. Wolves gotta replace all that three point shooting. Call Malik Beasley and use DDV’s expiring in a deal.

Phillips - hardly knew ye

Kyle Anderson - I wouldn’t be livid if he came back on a vet min, but other than that, he tried.

Bones- if he’s back it’s because TC won’t give up on him. If someone offers him halfway decent money on a multi team deal, take care.

Two ways and Pullin - take care.

Rocco - get him on the Gupta special deal.

Beringer- if Rudy goes and he’s force fed big minutes and a starting role, I’m kinda ok with it, but realistically we’re at best a play in team if he does. Rooting for his development.

Clark- he never got better at the things he needed to fix. He can go.

Shannon - obvious playoff riser. Now must be healthy and contribute during the season and work on his right hand.

Ayo - MUST come back. If he doesn’t, offseason is a failure no matter what. He’s priority #1.

Conley. I kinda only want him back if Finch isn’t coach.

Naz Reid - clearly the starter if Randle goes. Not opposed to moving him for he and Jaden IMO are representative of something we want so bad we’re trying to will it into existence even when it’s not realistic. Get healthy and properly grieve this summer.

Ant - the fun and games are over. And he needs to drop this idea that it doesn’t matter where they’re seeded. The regular season matters and he has to lead the way. Time to really lead and not just be the most talented guy.

Rudy - if he goes he goes. He still has some value and we WILL be worse without him, but whoever the next center is, MUST catch the damn ball. No longer opposed to moving him, but we gotta be realistic.

Jaden - the real loading. Gonna enter year 7 still thinking the best is yet to come when it shoulda have shown itself by now. Hold onto him unless it’s something major, but the expectations gotta be tempered with him.

Randle - told ya.

Tim Connelly has a ton of work to do and I don’t trust him. Remember after year 1 and some of us hoped he’d take the Wizards job? Well we’re back to that point. I’m worried he’s gonna keep robbing Peter to pay Paul. The devil always comes to collect. Must be measured in his approach.

My way too early offseason prediction:

Finch stays but Nori ends up replacing him midway through next season if the team gets off to a slow start.

Randle gets traded to the Nets for Nic Claxton and Ben Saraf. We take on an extra year of Claxton but get a guard prospect ( even though I think Saraf sucks.)

As a result, Gobert ALSO gets moved. That one will be a bit complicated in the return and for who, but he has to go so Claxton is at center. Probably have to get a guard back somehow. Maybe a 3 teamer with Phoenix and Toronto where we get Quickley, Royce O’Neale and Gradey Dick. Something like that.maybe a pick gets added in.

Wolves draft Joshua Jefferson at 28 to back up Reid.

Wolves keep Ayo at $18-19 mil a year.

C Claxton /Beringer /Zikarsky
PF Reid /O’Neale/Joshua Jefferson
SF McDaniels /Dick / #59
SG Edwards /Shannon /FA vet min
PG Quickley/ Dosumnu /Saraf

Connelly has to decide if the team makes moves specifically to compete with the Spurs and OKC, which means we need to swap out Randle AND Rudy for stretch bigs and big, switchable wings that can shoot. Or do we make more incremental moves that start moving us in that direction without completely revamping the frontcourt (e.g. may be just trade one of the two)?

IDK...The Spurs and OKC are so damn good and still young. As much as we may want to lament the performance of our guys, we have run into a buzzsaw in the last two playoff runs against these two teams. Not sure there is any set of moves we can make other than moving to the Eastern Conference that will help us much. :(

I would love to know who is not listening (I could make guesses) and why are they not listening. And is finch voice gone.

*i will say the NBA is weird, miles turner was on a podcast with Breanna Stewart and they were talking about coaches fining players. And Turner said Doc never did and that was weird and Giannis would show up late to everything. Being hours late to practice and flights. It’s so weird.
I heard that pod too, and it completely made up my mind about Giannis. Gutting the team in exchange for a guy who thinks he doesn't have to follow team rules would be a disaster.

I got so tired of hearing "coaches drew up a good game plan...we just didn't follow it"...I don't ever want to hear that again. The only way that is on Finchy would be if he is making the game plan too complex for our guys. Let's face it...we all love Ant, Jaden, and Naz, but I don't think any of them took AP classes in high school.

I thought Clark was going to be unrestricted so him being a RFA is good news since a team is gonna have to throw a decent amount of money to keep the Wolves from matching. When I say decent I mean like 5 million or more a year on a multi-year deal. Maybe someone does that but it will not be in the first wave (or even 2nd lol) of free agency. I would like to see him come back he plays his butt off and can defend and I think he can improve a little. For cheap I'd like him back. Like there have said if he gets a good offer I wish him the best and be happy for him. I think they acquired Phillips in part as a backup plan if Clark didn't stay.

Let's say they do some sort of reset and trade Gobert for value. Is there a vet or maybe underrated guy they can sign at C that they can play some legit minutes at center while Beringer gets ready? Personally I think Gobert is a guy I think I would like to stay around and I would need something pretty worthwhile to move him but he isn't gonna be here forever so...I also don't know what value he would return in a trade.

I think there is a higher probability of LaMelo Ball being a Wolf than any of those guys...
I really think it's a zero percent chance for Morant. The guy would be absolutely useless against Wemby. Can't shoot the 3 and he's small so getting his mids or bucket shots off just isn't happening with accuracy.

No idea what Randle's trade value is these days. I would try to get that 5th pick from the Clippers and draft Darius Acuff to run the point guard spot. Or try to trade with Golden State for the 11th pick to take either Labaron Philon to play point guard or Yaxel Lendeborg to take over the pf spot. Move Randle to Detroit, have Detroit send Holland (who is out of the playoff lineup due to shooting but great defender) the 21st pick and something else to either the Clippers with that 5th pick our way, or to Golden State with that 11th pick coming our way. Phoenix is another team that could have interest in Randle.

We have had this young and older guys dynamic for a few years now, and it has gotten us far, the 2nd best team in the West the two previous season and either the 3rd or 4th best team in the west this year (not sure if the Lakers were better when fully healthy) But I do think we need to pivot to some younger legs to go against this new obstacle in San Antonio that is going to be in front of us until we move East. TSJ is hopefully healthy next season and ready to show what he can fully do. We need Joan to have a massive summer, hopefully working out with Ant, Jaden, Naz, and whoever else stays in Minnesota this summer.

Anyone know of a player hidden on other teams that need a change of scenery like Deni Avidja coming from Washington to Portland? Or even smaller like NAW coming from Utah to Minnesota? We may need to find that reclamation project or a distressed asset that can flourish in the right system.
