I agree Kat is better but that’s not the issue. The apron era started and the wolves are in a better long term spot now than they were 2 years ago. I know you're right but there is no denying that the trade looks completely idiotic now.
If they swing Randle for real assets and Beringer looks great next year than the optic change.
Matt seems to be correct, the extension was a major mistake.
Also not resigning Randle does not mean we could sign another player. That contract as salary filler is better than a min contract in my opinion. (Subject to change if they have to attach assets to Randle)

My wish for Randle's salary was resigning NAW and signing Tre Jones and moving Naz to starting lineup. We also keep Lenny.kekgeek wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 11:27 pmI agree Kat is better but that’s not the issue. Tre or DDV/Ant/Jaden/Naz/Gobert and bench Tre or DDV/NAW/Shannon/Lenny/Beringer

For how bad Randle was Naw shot worse in these playoffs. Naw also struggled mightily in the last 3 playoffs.KG4Ever wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 11:37 pmMy wish for Randle's salary was resigning NAW and signing Tre Jones and moving Naz to starting lineup. We have a starter out and our star playing at 60%. There have been mistakes made, and there will be changes, but we lost to a better team tonight...period.

NAW had a great year and he's a lot lot younger than Randle. His contract is half of Randle's too. No comparison on the relative worth of these two. 30 of 30 teams pick NAW.kekgeek wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 11:44 pmFor how bad Randle was Naw shot worse in these playoffs. Re: Remember the Alamo! - Spurs at Wolves G6 GDT
How did you calculate 60%? I heard Ant was feeling great and the knee was fine ahead of tonight's game.
Re: Remember the Alamo! - Spurs at Wolves G6 GDT
Exactly. It was a trade that had to be made, and bringing back Ju, Donte and what became Joan only proves how brilliant TC is. Ju's dreadful performance this series (and especially tonight) shouldn't color our opinion of this deal...he gave us some memorable moments the past two years and, while he is almost certain to be gone, he is likely to bring back an asset with some value. Joan has enormous upside...it's going to be fun to watch. And Donte might have been our best 2-way player this season. I would argue this would have been a competitive series if he had been available...not having his quick release marksmanship and disruptive defense was the nail in the coffin. Yes, Ju was terrible in this series and KAT is looking terrific now in NY (although just a few weeks ago he was being ripped mercilessly there!), but any criticism of TC for a deal that had to happen is unwarranted.kekgeek wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 10:57 pmI want to say I’m a Kat defender but there is a lot of revisionist history with him. He shot 23% in the first 3 games of the WCF, causing us to lose all 3 games.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 10:51 pmWe sure? Julius Randle has tanked two seasons of wolves basketball, so now the hopes are all pinned on Beringer working out while KAT likely heads to an NBA finals.
I understand his contact was ridiculous and they had to get off it but Randle killed this team
Not trading Kat means no Randle, Donte or Beringer (and any assets they get in future trades). Also means Naz is also gone because they could not resign him and not be in the second apron.
There were rumors that the Knicks were shopping Kat at the deadline and he is a hard trade because of the apron era. Now Kat has been great against 2 bad teams in the playoffs.
I hope he wins the title but Kat also no showed big games like Randle has and they would be in significant more cap hell

Jack Morris asked if you could give him a call...AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 10:57 pm When the last time a Minnesota team hasn't been embarrassed/blown out in an elimination game?
Is it literally game 7 against Denver and then what.... Vikings against the Saint? Embarrassing but not a blow out..... Fuck
