the top guy for me at 28 assuming he's there is Joshua Jefferson from Iowa State. I know they could use a PG, but the ones that would be left outside of Meleek Thomas and Sergio de Larrea are really short and really poor on defense. They can't go that route again (and both those guys are ticketed for G League if they get picked here). Joshua Jefferson is crafty. He can fill up a stat sheet. He's 23, so he's plug and play and if we're gonna move Randle, it's good to have a backup for Reid who can excel in the half court which works well with Ant. If Kyle stays on a vet min, awesome guy to learn from as we know Slo-Mo isn't very athletic but effective and gets to his spots.

I'm very iffy on Christian Anderson. Talented, but he's a turnover machine and he's small. If you're gonna consider Christian Anderson, bring back Tyus Jones on the cheap.

Alex Karaban could be of help with his shooting and he's also older.
Milan Momcilovic, big time shooter. He could step in and make 100-150 threes in his rookie year, but he's kinda just a shooter.
Allen Graves would be awesome but he's gonna be a draft riser. Had we not swapped, this would be the Allen Graves thread.
no centers, though I like Zuby Ejiofor as a Randle substitute and backup to Reid. Also like him as a small ball 5 if Beringer still needs more time.
WW, nbadraft.net has us taking Momcilovic. He is a terrific shooter. bit I agree with you...not much else. The Iowa State guy you like probably won't be around for us, unless he's a victim of the "too old" thing.
I looked at a few mocks today. It's early but they were kinda all over the place for where some guys would go. Iowa State guy was gone well before us in one and in another he went a few picks in the 2nd round.
Tim Connelly hasn't called me yet to get my input so I probably won't go too crazy on learning about the prospects until he does.

That sounds good to me. I kinda feel like a few years ago when I asked my good friend that's a Bears fan what he was hoping for in players for their Bears draft. He said "I'm hoping for players that are good at football". I just want some that can actually play.
End of the 1st round might mean some guy that may fall for one reason or another. Idk if there will be another TSJ fall to us but we might have a guy available that's pretty good. I mean Jaden McDaniels fell to 28...
I came across a Ebuka Okorie highlight reel while watching YouTube and I'm not like all in on the guy but my goodness the guy has some ridiculous burst. It's like he has the turbo button on NBA Jam. He is small and all that but picking him at the end of the 1st round of he is there is reasonably intriguing. I'll probably try and do a little more research before the draft but not gonna get to into it like I did back when every year we desperately needed a player just to make the roster hopefully not terrible.

That’s my view. We shouldn’t be overly focused on player position. Rather, we should be focused mainly on player type - skills, productivity, IQ, toughness. We need more players who can rebound and defend. We can alway use more players who can shoot. I’d like to see us get faster and more athletic as a way to counter the size advantage the Spurs have with Wemby.

My guess is that TC will package #28 with Randle and perhaps other assets in a draft-day trade. Failing that, I see him trading down from #28 for a couple second round picks (one this year and another in a future year). Based on TC’s track record and the nature of this year’s draft, I think it’s highly unlikely TC drafts and keeps the 28th pick.
