I don't know if any on here listen to the 'Howls and Growls' podcast on Youtube, but he did a show yesterday outlining the fit of Leonard on this team. I recommend you listen to it. It was rumored that the Wolves did enquire about Kawhi at the trade deadline once Giannis talks stalled.
It got me thinking. Kawhi is a pretty dam good fit. Yes there's a long list of injury concerns, but he did play more games than Ant last year at 65. He averaged 28 points (career high) on 50/39/89 splits and is still a legit defender. With his age (34) and injury concerns it makes him a somewhat realistic trade target. He's on a 50 mil expiring deal, so ideally you'd want an extension secured before you pull the trigger.
Minnesota receives: Kawhi Leonard
LAC receives: Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Terrance Shannon Jr, 28th Pick this year, 2033 1st RP (Top 5 protection) and 2028 Pick Swap.

Re: Kawhi Leonard
so the bench is
Reid
Phillips
Slow-Mo
Bones
Conley
Beringer
Clark
Zikarsky
pick 59
Pullin
Basically any game where JMac picks up 3 fouls in the first half and the game is over.

Re: Kawhi Leonard
If it was a mystery whether Leonard would play or not at times in LA imagine what it would be like here. Im out on Leonard, and I absolutely loved his game and even defended him for a while. But I cant see him being anything but a distraction here and am imagining the negative impact it would have on Ant. Outside of Giannis or a miracle vet min for Lebron, I dont want any more vets on this team. Id like to see the wolves get rid of them all and give Ant his runway.

Re: Kawhi Leonard
If healthy Leonard might fit the roster better than any of the high ends vets that are being considered. The guy just put up a terrific regular season and played a decent chunk of games. I have similar reservations and both of you and I'm out on him for what I would assume it would cost to get the Clippers to deal him.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 7:10 pmI’m with you, Doper!thedoper wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 6:13 pm If it was a mystery whether Leonard would play or not at times in LA imagine what it would be like here.
