Interesting info on Randle expecting to be traded this summer. I haven’t tried any Randle deals on a trade machines yet, but I’d be looking at last season’s playoff teams who were bottom 15 offensively during the regular season. These are the teams that might be interested in a player like Randle to upgrade their offensive and help them advance further in the playoffs. Here’s the list, starting with the worst offensive team and continuing in order after that:
1. Hornets (had the 2nd worst offensive rating in the NBA last season)
2. Orlando Magic (had the 3rd worst offensive rating)
3. Toronto Raptors (had the 5th worst)
4. Blazers (had the 8th worst)
5. Sixers (had the 9th worst)
6. Heat (had the 10th worst)
7. Rockets (had the 11th worst)
8. Pistons (had the 14th worst)
9. Warriors (had the 15th worst)
If the Heat don’t land Giannis, perhaps they’d be interested in Randle to play next to Bam. The Hornets could certainly use a guy like Randle. The Blazers owner apparently wants the Blazers to take a big leap next season and is itching to make big trades. Maybe there’s a realistic Randle deal with the Blazers that would bring the Wolves a good return. I think Randle might benefit the Pistons more than any other team.
I haven’t explored yet who we might want from any of these teams, much less who we could realistically expect to get in return for Randle or Randle + pick 28 or Randle + Donte. Any thoughts from any of you guys?
Wolves offseason outlook.
Re: Wolves offseason outlook.
Some Randle trade ideas with some of the teams on my list of offensively challenged teams. I’ve excluded the Magic because they have Palo at PF and I don’t see them trading for Randle as a backup.
PISTONS
- Wolves get: Isaiah Stewart and Duncan Robinson
- Detroit gets: Randle
Significant offensive upgrade for the Pistons. Stewart would give us a tough defensive center and Robinson would help replace the 3 point shooting void created by Donte’s injury.
HORNETS
- Wolves get: Grant Williams and Josh Green
- Hornets get: Randle
Major offensive upgrade for the Hornets. Grant would give us an excellent defensive PF behind Naz for our front court rotation. Josh Green would give us more wing depth, athleticism, shooting and defense.
HEAT
- Wolves get: Jovic, Jaquez and Jakucionis
- Heat get: Randle
Nice offensive upgrade for the Heat. Wolves get an offensive backup PF with upside in Jovic, a tough backup SF in Jaquez and a PG prospect with length in Jakucionis. The 3 for 1 helps fill out the Wolves sparse roster while trimming payroll.
Any of these three deals would give us some extra room under the 2nd apron to sign Ayo and perhaps use our taxpayer MLE on a solid PG.

The Hornets deal is the one that intrigues me the most and it seems at least somewhat realistic. I think Williams would be a nice player to help the frontcourt off the bench with Naz starting. Green is a 3 and D guy that we could use.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2026 8:32 pm Some Randle trade ideas with some of the teams on my list of offensively challenged teams. I'd love to get Jaquez but idk how much the Heat would be willing to give him up. Jovis has stalled out I'm sure they would like to move that salary...idk if he can get back on track or not. Personally a Randle for Herro trade I wouldn't mind but idk if the heat want to do that or not.
Also idk if you are using the ESPN trade machine but man sportrac is soooooooooo much better. You can add draft picks (available picks for each team is listed) use available trade exceptions decline team options on players, opt into player options and then trade them etc etc. Gupta would be embarrassed if you were still using his old trade machine!!! Lip, Monster - Does the 15th man thread start after the draft?
Re: Wolves offseason outlook.
Supposedly the Celtics checked in on Rudy last trade deadline. There's your in for Derrick White, assuming Boston can't pull off a Giannis trade. I doubt they'd want to pair Rudy and Giannis.
Rudy for Derrick White works or even adding Sam Hauser if Boston wants to shed some extra money.

The Hornets deal would be my first choice. My second choice would be the Pistons deal. I don’t love the Miami deal but I’d seriously consider it if I were in TC’s shoes - mainly because of the payroll trim and Jaquez but I’d also insist on swapping our 28th pick for Miami’s 13th as part of the deal. I think the Heat would take this deal and run with it. I thought about a Randle for Herro deal, but I don’t think Miami would consider it. The point of acquiring Randle for them would be upgrading their offense from last season’s 10th worst ranking. Giving up Herro for Randle seems to net out at little if any offensive improvement.Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2026 10:06 pmThe Hornets deal is the one that intrigues me the most and it seems at least somewhat realistic. I use Fanspo, which does the things you mentioned that sportrac does. You’re right about the ESPN trade machine. It’s Gupta’s dinosaur. Maybe MIT isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Re: Wolves offseason outlook.
The ESPN trade machine was great when it was first started and back then putting together something like that was likely quite the feat because I'd guess the technology was even difficult to work out. I'll have to try out Fanspo more. I noticed it had some pretty good info the other day when I was looking for something.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2026 11:02 pmThe Hornets deal would be my first choice. I finally read the new lottery stuff and yeah it definitely is going to have some teams look for players to help them actually be competitive. Randle despite is flaws isn't a guy just putting up stats on bad teams or whatever. The draft is only a couple days away it seems like we are gonna see some deals even if the Giannis situation isn't worked out yet. It seems like that too half of the first round is reasonably valuable this year and #13 is about as high of a pick as I've seen being offered and that's from Miami and with the new Lottery odds...I'm not sure how you approach future picks in a deal but it's different.

Re: Wolves offseason outlook.
Is Queta gettable if we trade Rudy? Kid's a dog.
The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the absolute right move is to trade Rudy and get one, maybe two lotto picks.
I'm not desperate to trade him, but he's the only asset that makes sense to off-load and actually get real value back, and while I don't know anything about this draft class, the word is that it's loaded at the top with PGs.
You have a good, possibly great young core, you drafted the heir apparent at center, there is potential to fill in with quality role players in Ayo-TJ-Clark-Kyle-Randle trade; adding one to two young developmental ball handlers probably has the best long term pay off.
Here are the problems this present:
- who is the starting center
- still need to determine what to do with Randle
- young prospects are exciting but will they develop? How long will that take?
- this roster risk being a play in team this next season
I really don't know what the trades would be here, and absent that it's difficult to say that this is absolutely the right call.
But
If you can trade Rudy, this years first and I guess maybe 2030 to Charlotte for Williams, green and both their lottos
trade Randle for a passable starting center
Extend Ayo
And maybe get one of Memphis's ball handlers
I think you have something that can still compete for a top 6th seed in 26 depending on just how good Ant, Jaden and Naz can be and has the potential to peak during all of their peak prime ages in 28' and 29'
If you can get Ant and Jaden to sign their extensions in that time period then now we're really cooking

Re: Wolves offseason outlook.
[Charania] Free agent guard Collin Gillespie intends to sign a four-year, $48 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, sources tell ESPN. Gillespie spent three straight seasons on two-way contracts after going undrafted out of Villanova in 2022 and now earns a lucrative long-term deal.
First off season signing, and a pretty good deal. I'd be happy having Collin at that price here. Hopefully we hear the same about Ayo soon.

Re: Wolves offseason outlook.
A couple Wolves/Bulls trade ideas:
TRADE 1 (trade up scenario)
- Bulls Get: Randle, Pick #28
- Wolves Get: Williams, Okoro, Pick #15
TRADE 2 (PG acquisition/Trade down scenario)
- Bulls Get: Randle, Pick #28
- Wolves Get: Giddy, Gueye, Pick #38
If the Wolves want to take a big jump next season, Randle would be a good addition. They have Trae Jones who is arguably a better pure PG than Giddy. The Bulls have the #4 pick in next week’s draft so they the 15th pick isn’t that important to them. They can get a potential future star at #4 and still get a decent player at #28.
