You must have missed it. Phenom identified Lyles as a target over a week ago when a blurb came out saying he wanted back into the NBA.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2026 7:34 pmTrey Lyles never crossed my mind. Like so many of TC’s moves this one came out of nowhere. But if I had been thinking of Trey he would have been on my list of solid possible rotational bigs off the bench to sign at the vet minimum. This was a nice marginal signing.
Are we going small?!?

Seems to be an argument that evidence does nothing for. Folks want the PF to say PF on espn depth charts and can’t stand the idea that basketball in general is not some rigid sport like football or baseball.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:40 pm Let me remind the doomers here what Jaden did at PF two seasons ago when Randle and Rudy were out: 20 PPG, 9 RPG, and 3 APG over 6 games including a couple against OKC. My God, he's almost 7-feet tall! We want him closer to the basket and to be able to roam a bit more.
If a team has a bad matchup for Jaden maybe Joan gets the start. If the team has an electric ball handler maybe Jaden checks them. Starting lineups are nearly meaningless. But let’s see what the professional coaches draw up.

Possible Rotation:
Center - Rudy and Joan
Forwards - Jaden, Shannon, Green, and Lyles
Guards - Ant (will also play some Forward), Ball, Ayo, and Clark
That's a 10-man rotation with no one under 6'4" and four guys 6'9" or taller. That ain't small!

That rotation has terrific length overall. It also has a lot of athleticism and skill.
