Wolves summer league

I'd call him an outlier. I would also say that while it's not brute athleticism, his ability to use his stocky body and elite footwork to get shots off or draw fouls is also very unique.

I'll add that Pullin is 6'3.5" without shoes but has less impressive wingspan at 6'5.75". That's a lot bigger than Brunson and a pretty solid size for a PG especially since he is far from a skinny dude.

He reminds me of Jamal Murray, both in his physical profile and his actual game when I watch him play. Just a really smooth game with a deadly pull-up 2-pt jumper and solid 3-point shot. Both had similar measurements at the combine in terms of height, wingspan, weight, etc. But Jamal Murray out-jumped him by 5+ inches in the vertical and that tells you a lot about where Pullin stands athletically, as I don't view Murray as having elite athleticism by NBA standards.

He's getting too good for the G-League, so I just have to wonder what else could be holding him back from landing a standard contract and the only thing I can come up with is that the size, speed, and athleticism of the NBA trumps his skill-set, at least for now. May be he's even more skillful after another offseason and can make the leap, IDK.

If i were in charge of an NBA teams’ basketball operations I’d give Zyon a try at the NBA level. That’s the only way to find out if his impressive skill set isn’t enough to overcome his athletic limitations.

May be he just needs an extended chance somewhere. Otherwise, he'd easily be able to play for one of the top European teams.

May be he just needs an extended chance somewhere. Otherwise, he'd easily be able to play for one of the top European teams.

One thing working against him is three point shooting. How first G-league season it was up and down. The other thing is even if he is hitting them it's on fairly low volume. A lot of times teams want backup perimeter players to be able to play off other players and 3 point shooting is one of those things.

As for him not getting an NBA deal...damn there are so many player out there some have actual NBA experience that have proved something. There are only so many roster spots so idk how many teams are like you know what we are gonna go out and offer Pullin a guaranteed deal which is what it would take to get him off a 2 way deal especially when there is a whole new draft class and summer league coming up. Teams can sign undrafted guys other random dudes to non guaranteed contracts and bring them to training camp and see what happens. If they are truly rookies and they made the team those guys are also cheaper than if they signed Pullin. If Pullin looks to good for summer league and puts up another heck of a G-league season this year like he did last year...that's gonna force the issue. We have seen guys like Jordan Goodwin take a while to finally break through even after having some actual success in the NBA and now he has a reasonably nice multi-year deal with the Suns. Lets see what Pullin does with this next opportunity in Summer league. The Wolves roster still has some opportunity for a PG type guard especially with Hyland on a 1 year deal.

I like your pick! I can see a path where both Rocco and TKR (and Joan, of course) play very well in Summer League. Rocco gets a standard contract and TKR takes Rocco's 2-way spot.

Such a fun read because we know what Naz Reid ultimately became for us and even McLaughlin contributed some valuable minutes for us down the line.

But I saw nothing in Culver's college stats or physical profile that distinguished him as better than A-Walker."
