He is playing more aggressively (physically) this half. He has to learn to play with that gear.
SL Game 1 GDT

Re: SL Game 1 GDT
He's just slow to react and doesn't finish defensive plays. Like he''ll get into position to deter a shot, but then the guy he's guarding will just go to the other side of the basket and finish easily. Rocco could adjust and block or deter the shot, but he doesn't change his initial positioning.

Re: SL Game 1 GDT
This is what I've been saying for a while. His FT% is terrible and he has very bad shot mechanics. Offensively, I think he should concentrate on trying to develop a floater like Hartenstein, and that might be the best we can hope for from him. I say that as somebody who really likes his potential as a defensive rim-runner though. So he really can't play next to Rudy, and if he works out long-term, we'll really need to play him next to a 4 who can space the floor. Again, he might be worth it with his defense and his motor and his ability to finish at the rim.Monster wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2026 3:38 pm Some thoughts on Beringer after the first half and watching him in warmups.
He is a LOOONG way from being able to do anything with his jump shot. His FTs maybe he will be able to make them but it's a very manufactured shot. He looks much better if he is shooting with one hand but that one turn around one handed shot he took near the 2nd quarter on the left side of the floor that got easily blocked was from not having any extension on that shot. If he is on the move things look better.
He has pretty good hands and can do something with the ball when he gets it. It feels like he could play a little differently than Rudy playing a little more small because he can do something more than just be at the rim on offense.

He made a push shot early in the first half. I've seen him make them in the G-League too. It's definitely a shot he will keep getting better at.SameOldNudityDrew wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2026 4:05 pmThis is what I've been saying for a while. Re: SL Game 1 GDT
There is potential for him attacking with the ball in his hands and as a passer. Imagine if Rudy could catch passes better and dribble even decently. That would make him sort of a problem (in a good way) on the offensive end.SameOldNudityDrew wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2026 4:05 pmThis is what I've been saying for a while. First impression on TKR....Not sure he has the mobility to play much as an NBA PF. He seems slow, strong, big, and methodical. Perhaps someone that could have played the 4 back in the 90s or aughts. Not sure he can be anything other than a small-ball Center in the NBA.
Re: SL Game 1 GDT
I liked that dribble drive by Joan. It didn’t result in points but is a flash of yet another aspect of his potential. Giannis type potential.
Re: SL Game 1 GDT
I tend to agree, but I’m not sure and want to see more. He looks lke he has a very high basketball IQ and that can compensate for a lot of physical deficits.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2026 4:13 pm First impression on TKR....Not sure he has the mobility to play much as an NBA PF. This looks like a really good officiating crew. Calling a great game.
