Beringer scored in a variety of ways: Jump hook in the lane, push shot along the baseline, made all his free throws, dunk off an in-bounds pass, drive for a hoop and harm from the top of the key. Just a terrific performance from him.

Pullin was the adult in the room. Smooth operator that is too good for a 2-way IMO. Either convert him to a standard contract or let him go to some other team.

Zikarsky with a really disappointing performance. Hopefully he bounces back in the next game.

Freeman looked out of sorts trying to create offense for himself off the bounce. Best used as a pure PF.
Rocco was better in the 2nd half. Still he looks to be a year away but I still like his potential. He needs to play more games.
I agree, Monster. I was really disappointed in Rocco today but it was just one game and I agree he looked better in the second half. He has a nice looking stroke and that corner three he hit is very repeatable. A guys who is 7’3 with that stroke should make it in the NBA if he works hard. I think he needs to do two things in particular: First, he needs to learn how to take better advantage of his length. He’s not quick, but I’ve seen bigs no quicker than Rocco have successful NBA careers. He can learn how to better position himself and use angles to supplement his length advantage. Second, he needs to bet physically stronger. He clearly has enough frame to pack on a lot of addition lean muscle. Right now you can see he lacks muscularity. We know physiologically that muscularity doesn’t peak until around age 30. Rocco is still 19. I’m not giving up on the Rocco era. :).

I wish I were there. My wife and I were just lamenting that we didn’t go this year. How was the vibe in the arena?
This second game at Cox is almost completely full. It's a good vibe. The first game there was plenty of seats. It's not like there is a big draw for that Wolves Pels game. Lol I stood in line for a few minutes before they opened the doors at 11:30am. I don't remember doing that last time but I had just got off the plan and did the bag check thing.

I had that same experience for the first time two years ago. There was a time when it was easy to get in and out the Cox arena and always end up with great seats. But those days are over. Nevertheless, there isn’t a bad seat in Cox. It’s such a great venue - watching NBA players in a high school gym.

If Giannis could shoot, the best player in the world conversation would be moot. Ahhh Cox Pavilion, I watched my daughter play in there a couple times - great memories.

So true about Giannis. But we all know Giannis has had a decent career anyway. :)

I watched the first warmups from a seat pretty close in the corner and then moved to mid Court. I was sitting a little closer but I moved up. It's easier to see the game sometimes when you are up a little higher. In this venue like you said you aren't far from the action either way.

Love the fact that one of our Midwest Volleyball correspondents is there in person to watch and report on the games. Thanks Monster!

Bones was there and Arod and I think Lore. Nate Burleson was coming on through the stands in the first game. I think there have been a couple people I recognized but couldn't figure out who they are. I did finally go say hi to Mike Miller. Lol

This 2nd game has thinned out a bit once the game in the other arena started...I assume.

People kept talking about Zyon and at one point I realized they were talking about that scrub on the Pels. Lol

Maybe someday I will be memorialized in a summery of a Summer league thread by Q!
