SL Game 2 GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

I didn't have a great place to put this, so I figured I would start tomorrow's GDT now.

The BIG trade is done, and Nate said he expects Isaiah Evans to play. However, I believe he needs to sign a contract before he can play, which we have not seen come across the wire as of tonight. I'm anxious to see if he signs for the 2nd round rookie minimum, or one of the 2nd round exemptions, which would put a pretty big crimp in the Wolves cap space.

Considering the log jam of guards we have, I've wondered whether the "rights to Evans" could be included in a sweetener in a trade for a PF. I kind of hope not, because, while I expect nothing from Evans this year, he seems like a potential gem down the road.

Anyway, that's what I'll be watching for over next 12 hours -- an Evans' signing! (who cares about LeBron -- if you watched Finch's podcast interview today, he didn't seem to make a very compelling case for LeBron...)

If we sign LeBron, then a logjam almost certainly exists because that will mean Jaden plays 75%+ of his minutes at SF.

But if we don't sign LeBron and Jaden spends 75% of his minutes at PF, then the pool of "guards" we have are really covering three positions, not two. Ant, Shannon, and Green all have the size to play SF.

Evans doesn't have to have a contract signed to play. TKR doesn't have one either. Evans is in a position he will get a contract and it probably is wise to get one signed before he plays but I'd guess that's already been worked out even if he doesn't have it signed yet. I'm looking forward to seeing what he looks like in person. Nate said everyone is like oh he is tall. Lol

No Joan tonight -- back tightness. But Evans gets the start!

What's up with OT games?!? Delaying the start of the Wolves game...

I wonder if this frees up Rocco and Freeman to have more effective games. The three-big lineup may have been too much of a good thing in Game 1.

Pullin has some mouths to feed in this game with Freeman and Rocco needing to get on track and now our 2nd round gunslinger joining the fray!

I get a chance to catch a SL game and Joan isn't playing!

I hope this back tightness isn't an omen going forward.
