Guys like that need to know where their spots are an other players creating spots for them to get up good looking shots. This is summer league so that happening is less likely to start but he didn't get much runway for that because of being part of that trade.

I liked seeing some of the other stuff. He looked like he cared about defense and really moved well and his length showed up. That game 1 he had a. Lock of a 3 on some guy where that shot didn't have a chance because Evans had a good contest and his size and length was big in getting there block. I saw than in college too. I thought he looked quicker on that end. The shooting is disappointing although last night I thought most of his 3's were good shots as opposed to game one were some of them were just jacked up. It's also worth noting he shot over 80% on his FTs both season in college. His shooting isn't a 1 year fluke or something. I'd guess he plays the rest of the games let's see if he can knock down at least one jumper. Lol
I do really like the size, and effort level on defense. Hopefully it's something Jaden can really mentor him on. If you squint, you can see a little NAW in his game and size. I like that he picked jersey number 33 to have a chip on his shoulder that he was drafted pick 33. That kind of an edge is what pushed NAW to put his effort into defense.

I was going to watch a Wolves summer league game... think it would have been my first one since Tyus Jones starred as ... a scorer!

And then, predictably, I forgot.

As for Evans, all I can go on is what I saw at Duke... and heard from others. He looked the part of a movement shooter in college. Sorta reminded me of a Jordan Hawkins type. A lanky dude who looked really smooth shooting the ball.

Like Hawkins, sorta sounds like the smooth stroke might not translate. As for the big drop in percentage behind the arc in college... I heard on a podcast that it was in part due to significantly more focus from the defense in his 2nd season. Previously open looks suddenly become contested when you're near the top of every scouting report.

Yeah, a terrible start for Evans, but I'm still fairly confident he'll be fine. He did attract a lot of defensive attention his sophomore year, but his experience with the Wolves should be more like what he had playing next to Cooper and Kon his freshman year when he hit 41.6% of his threes. Let's hope so.

It's about 6 months too early to begin to worry about Evans 3-point shooting.

A thank you to Q, FNG and Cool for talking me off the ledge regarding Evans’ shooting. But to Cool’s point, if what we’ve seen from Evans in Summer League is still what we see six months from now then I’ll be right back on that ledge. :)

Airbnb gave me a $100 credit for an experience so after that performance last night this afternoon I went to the Wreck Room and smashed some stuff! The guy said he has a bunch of people booking later today so maybe the Wolves are going there too? Evans will want someone to go with him in case he can't hit anything...

When I had watched Evans' highlight/shooting tape, the first thing I thought was that his shot was too flat.

I'm sure whatever metropolitan city you visit will have one. I do think this one had better protective equipment than the one we have in Nebraska based on the pictures. I personally would want all the stuff to keep me safe reasonably possible. Flying glass shards are no joke.
