I thought I’d start another general thread to discuss NBA topics that might not relate to the Wolves. One bit of news this morning is that the Mavs are going to let Klay Thompson go, after which he apparently intends to rejoin the Warriors. Makes me think LeBron has decided to stay in California for year-round golf and the chance to play with his middle-aged contemporaries. Is there a trade for Anthony Davis on the horizon?
I don’t recall seeing any discussion here on Bam’s altercation with Tyler Herro. The initial report of the altercation brought a smile to my face. When I then read what Herro had been saying, I understood exactly why Bam punched him. Tyler Herro is one of those guys I’ve always wanted to smack. He’s such a punk. His social media criticisms of Bam, which precipitated the altercation, were the baseless rants of a jealous child who didn’t get to stay in South Beach. But apparently even Herro’s social media attacks on Bam weren’t enough to draw the rath of Bam’s fist. As if those attacks weren’t enough, Tyler apparently said something to Bam in the gym and that was when Bam let loose. If I were an NBA GM there are no circumstances under which I’d take Herro onto my team’s roster.

Re: General NBA News
Correction. Apparently, the Miami Heat are at the front of the line to sign Klay Thompson after he’s released. Hmm. So that must mean LeBron is going to the Heat. lol. Seriously, the Heat desperately need ball handlers and shooters.
Re: General NBA News
It's interesting that they are letting Klay go but they probably have some other vet players they can play instead.
In addition the Mavs drafted 4 players and the last one Vsevolod Ishchenko has done some good things in summer league they may be considering adding him to the roster. I saw him guarding Boozer at times that game but apparently I read they actually were giving him that defensive assignment at times which is kinda hilarious because he looks like he could still be in HS and Boozer looks like he could be a 5 year NBA vet. I would have guessed Ishchenko was a draft and stash but maybe not.
Klay can still play but idk how much of a role he could/should play. Miami might have a bigger role and less options than Dallas. If Dallas can. Ring on a younger player and save even the vet min then it might be worth it.
Re: General NBA News
I read a little about the thing between Bam and Herro. I was happy to see both of them and the league decided they just wanted to move on. There might be a little extra since when those 2 meet on the court the next time they play...or maybe it will be all squashed and they move on.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 9:27 am I thought I’d start another general thread to discuss NBA topics that might not relate to the Wolves. I thought the Wiggins extension with the Heat was interesting.

I’m not happy with Bam and Herro just moving on. I want Bam to smack Herro at least one more time.Monster wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 11:07 pmI read a little about the thing between Bam and Herro.
