I generally agree with you, Tim. However, I’ll note that Kuminga is far more mobile and athletic than Randle. So, unlike Randle, Kuminga can run the floor and move a lot in the half-court without necessarily clogging the lane. Unfortunately, his three-point shooting thus far is not better than Randles so he wouldn’t spread the floor. More importantly, as you suggested, Kuminga wants and expects the have the ball in his hand. He is first and foremost a scorer, at least in his own mind. When I combine that with the red flags regarding his attitude, he’s someone I would not want on our roster in spite of his considerable talent.

He's also still looking for his place (and payday) in the NBA. So he'd be in "prove my worth" mode. That could be both good and bad. Considering his career trajectory at the moment, however, I'm not so sure he's picked up on the what's good for the team is good for me thing.

Could be a selfish player.

Even at a vet min, Kuminga just seems to create as many problems for them as he'd solve and potentially worse than that
Off the bench he might be nice offensive spark plug especially if he's committed on defense--- it seems he's a better defender than I initially understood. I just don't think that's what he's looking for which get more into the problem stuff.

He's high usage and inefficient while doing it, and has been said doesn't really space the floor. Great in transition which is great but ... Idk you gotta be able to win in the half court too and he seems like an active hinderence to what they want to do there

I'd be in favor of giving Simmons a trading camp invite. I think he can be an effective player if reasonably healthy. My biggest question is whether he actually wants to play. If he does great. I'd want to see him in my building doing stuff for at least a few days before I gave him any guaranteed money...well based on the Wolves cap situation.

The other thing is that...I'll remind everyone that Kyle Anderson is less than 3 years older than Simmons and while he maybe wasn't as effective after he left the Wolves is Simmons at this point a better player (considering health) than Anderson? Anderson probably wasn't waiting around for the Lebron sweepstakes and likely wasn't gonna take a non guaranteed deal or maybe the Wolves would have been happy to take him back despite his flaws. I'm pretty sure Simmons is bigger than Anderson and even if he is diminished physically is probably still more athletic. Simmons could basically become something between Kyle Anderson and Giannis (with better playmaking) if he just did what his Agent said he should do. I'd be a little surprised if someone doesn't give him a shot. My prediction on him sticking around a whole season? Definitely less than 50%.

I'd give Simmons a minimum deal without hesitation. Low risk-high reward. He can rebound, handle the ball, and play defense. Other than shooting he would be a perfect fit.

He must need the money. Even the $4M vet minimum is real money for a guy who’s unemployed and probably still spends at the level of the NBA lifestyle he apparently loved a lot more than the game. I have no interest in giving a roster spot to a guy who doesn’t love the game and I really doubt Simmons suddenly misses the game. He probably misses the money and the female attention. If we wanted a non-shooting vet minimum guy who rebounds and defends we should have signed Sochan. He plays hard and is still young with upside. I’ll pass on Simmons.

Simmons definitely flew under the radar as an option for me. I would be good with bringing him on. He can rebound, play defense, start the break and isn't a ball stopper. The jumper is what it is but this team has been effective with SloMo being a similar archetype. It also sounds like he feels the best that he has health wise in a long time.
