Fun game today as again the Lynx show they can get up for the big games. McBride went nuts with 10 3-pointers and 43 points.
Re: Lynx talk
I didn't watch today, but wow...McBride! It's also admirable how Collier has settled into a role as 3rd option on offense while focusing on defense and rebounding...she is the consummate professional.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 5:04 pm Fun game today as again the Lynx show they can get up for the big games. She's heading into free agency I believe, do we expect her to stay?FNG wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 7:07 pmI didn't watch today, but wow...McBride! She's been pretty effusive in her praise for the organization, so I imagine they'll work it out.
Re: Lynx talk
Some national media members think she is going to GS. I personally think she stays based on the local media.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2026 9:41 amCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 9:00 pmShe's heading into free agency I believe, do we expect her to stay?

I will say though her taking a one year deal was interesting. Some of the speculation was wanted to see what the team looked like. I mean 8 of get 11 teammates left in the offseason. But obviously now the Lynx give her the best chance to win. There is also speculation that her and Arod don’t get along, now she has been to team events this season at Arod house but that is some speculation by local and national media

I'm not a fan of WNBA management... or the way it handles a lot of its business.bleedspeed wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2026 9:26 am Going semi off topic:
I think the WNBA has lost its way a bit. It has a lot of potential, and I think some of that potential is being squandered.
That being said, we're in a slow news cycle right now, especially in sports. As such, the WNBA has become THE lightning rod in the sports world. Heck, I came across this headline online today:
https://thehill.com/policy/sports-gamin ... gham-foul/
WHY?
Because "culture war division" has permeated all of our lives. It's a sign of the times. At the same time, I saw way-too-much discussion about Enes Kanter and Royce Young and their gimmicks/antics this weekend.
woe.

My bad. I misread your post. I was referencing McBride.kekgeek wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2026 10:16 amSome national media members think she is going to GS. I personally think she stays based on the local media.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2026 9:41 amCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 9:00 pm

I wouldn't be surprised if Collier leaves.

Sounds like this is the last year of the commissioners contract. They are hoping they don't have to fire her before the season is over.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2026 10:27 am

I heard somewhere someone ask fans to name 5 teams in the WNBA outside the Fever. I pay attention and I I can't do it. I know the cities but not the names for most teams. Also they mentioned how social media reactions to games seem to be 3 hours after the game instead of during it. They took that as people watch highlights not games.
Then you have:
"Clay Travis, founder of OutKick, has offered the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces $10 million to play a boys’ high school state championship team, with the Aces receiving the prize if they win."

I think it's painfully obvious why there's a 3-hour gap before social media reacts to WNBA games.
A LOT of the online discourse is specifically geared to (1) drum up engagement for $$, (2) push obvious culture war agendas, and (3) so there's a gap before they get the marching orders from others about which angle(s) to take since a lot of the engagement artists OBVIOUSLY don't watch the games (at least not for basketball reasons) and need cues from others about what to "discuss."
I find all of it disgusting. And more importantly... sad. But it's who we are as a society right now.
Re: Lynx talk
I want to say the WNBA has never been more popular. Viewership is up, ticket prices are way up, for example cheapest lower bowl tickets to the game I went to Lynx/Aces was 160$, during the 2024 WNBA finals I got tickets for 25$ game 4.
