No Murray, although no Mason might be the bigger loss. Can't say I'm very optimistic about the Vikings chances. But there is a reason they play the games!
I'm afraid the defense will need a spectacular day for Vikings to pull this one out...

I feel like Wentz will need to be really great with the Vikes win to keep Murray on the bench and I don't see that happening. However the Bears might have the worst pass defense or close to it in the NFL based on last year and week 1's stats. We should in all likelihood be able to pass well this game.
The Bears offense however put up 59 in week one. Thats crazy and won't happen again all year probably but it does show they are potentially elite among the elite and Caleb keeps getting better. I think we'll need 2 turnovers while not doing any ourselves (or a +2 differential) to win this game.
I'll say
Bears 31
Vikes 24

Wentz has been a little bit stinky so far. One obvious INT the defender dropped and just off the mark too much.

Hitman looks a step slow to me, not just that last tackle but on a few other plays. He looks outmatched quickness wise.

Yeah, he needs to be more accurate. I think we're winning the line of scrimmage on both sides though, and Jones is running hard. Williams scares the crap out of me though.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 12:56 pm Wentz has been a little bit stinky so far. One obvious INT the defender dropped and just off the mark too much.

The defense obviously has been elite up to now and potentially won us the game (that and maybe the lucky injury (for us)). Now see us close it out.FNG wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 1:19 pmYeah, he needs to be more accurate. I think we're winning the line of scrimmage on both sides though, and Jones is running hard. For the love of God could we just get a real QB on this team!?
Team would be ridiculous with anywhere near a top 10 QB but we're stuck with this shit

Don't think it happens much anymore, but an effective game manager can still win a SB, but the defense needs to be elite. Wentz didn't turn it over and that might be more important than anything.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 3:19 pm For the love of God could we just get a real QB on this team!?

Maybe. I'm just saying that it's embarrassing to watch THIS offense struggle this much with all of the talent it has available because it's getting wasted on some of the worst QB play in the league since they decided to let Darnold walk.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 4:46 pmDon't think it happens much anymore, but an effective game manager can still win a SB, but the defense needs to be elite. There is no world where Wentz can game manage this team (or any team) to a super bowl. We'll see about Murrary..... I'm not holding my breath

I'm not exactly convinced about this oline in terms of pass protection. They generally got it done run blocking so I'll take it. I'll also say that Dennis Allen is a very good DC and the Bears have some talent over there. It looked like it was raining all day so that's something to consider. If you are scared of Caleb Williams running all around (it's pretty amazing) then we should be wanting Kyler Murray to get healthy. Wentz did just enough in this game to win/not lose.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 5:21 pmMaybe. To me the first couple games of the season are sorta wildcards teams haven't gelled starters haven't played much etc etc. I don't care how ugly they are getting 2 wins to start the season I'll take it.
As for Harrison Smith I swear the defense looks better when he is out there I don't care how slow he isn't or isn't. On the other end of things Caleb Banks was a mixed bag but he made some plays and they definitely had him out there quite a few snaps. It's kinda impressive how they have been able to build that interior D line. Banks is sort of a luxury pick and if he does actually hit holy shit.
