[Shams] McDaniels strategically secures an additional $40 million guaranteed for an additional season while protecting his upside and creating the flexibility to negotiate another extension as early as 2028 at a starting salary of up to 140% of the new higher $40M salary
[Scotto] Jaden McDaniels becomes the first player in NBA history to secure an extension with three fully guaranteed seasons remaining on a non-max contract. Under the NBA’s CBA rules, the new deal positions McDaniels to negotiate another lucrative extension as early as 2028.
I wonder if Donte or Rudy get extended next.

It's really cool he likes playing in Minny.
Re: Jaden signed extension
Also it’s a great deal for the wolves. Jaden current contract he is making 15.8% of the cap. In 2029 its projected 18% of the cap. So very slight raise
Re: Jaden signed extension
So if you’re getting a 5% raise next year, but your company’s personnel budget is also going up by 5%, then your raise no longer counts as a raise? Sorry, the logic just befuddles me

Re: Jaden signed extension
I’m curious what you are trying to say here. The reason for my post is because when people see 40 million the sticker shock is sort of crazy. But 40 million in the nba this year is approximately 24.2% of the cap what would be considered a lot. But the cap is going up so based on projections when Jaden 40 million it will only be somewhere between 18-21% of the cap. So Jaden gets just under a 40% raise to his own personal life but in terms of the context of the wolves building a roster it’s a really small raise in terms of the capD-Loser25 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 5:21 pmSo if you’re getting a 5% raise next year, but your company’s personnel budget is also going up by 5%, then your raise no longer counts as a raise?
