What I’m not saying, “everything’s fine”
What I will say is we were all pretty unsure how we would rebound and stand up to a team like Miami. Bam and Giannis might be the most imposing front court in the league. We out rebounded that team like it was a joke. And Joan sucked. The rebounds were filled in by the aggregate of Ant and Jaden and Lamelo. This won’t happen every night and there was for sure a lot of “fuck you” energy from Ant and everyone really.
We should for sure pick a legit large veteran defensive type for either the 2 way or last roster spot as soon as possible, but this game represented a best case scenario relief. They played their style and didn’t back down. Live by the three die by the three so i bet we get blown out by the Magic…

I did... and I also saw this... lol.FNG wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 10:17 am Anybody hear Jaden's post-game comments? I think his lack of filter (which started I think with his comments last spring about Denver's lack of defense!) is going to become very entertaining. Last night he was asked about why he signed the extension, and he talked about the difference between free agency and the draft...how you have no say in who drafts you. Then he said something like "I was hoping not to get drafted by the Wolves...they were bad as f#@k!"

That was frickin' amazing! Players are gonna be on the floor laughing when they see that in the film room!AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 12:07 pmI did... and I also saw this... lol.FNG wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 10:17 am Anybody hear Jaden's post-game comments? I've always loved Jaden, but he was not on my bingo card as "most entertaining T-Wolf!"! He's off to a great start...never seem that celebration before.60WinTim wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 12:32 pmThat was frickin' amazing! Can I say something? You guys know I'm not bashful about saying I told you so when warranted. Well for the past couple years I've been championing the need for a point guard for this team. I brought up several names over that time, thinking if we could get not just a placeholder, but a very good player it would unlock the potential of the team. Last year I thought Julius was a natural chip to use in the pursuit. Well it turned out to be NAZ with Julius also moved to create the necessary room. I kept hearing there was nobody worthwhile we would be able to get with the assets we had. And I would reply that there was always a way if the will was strong. As it turned out we acquired the best option possible, and if you've been on X this morning you know that the national narrative about this team has completely flipped. The Wolves are being called the best show in the league and a lot of pundits are waking up to the possibility that if this team can find a serviceable backup big, the chip is in play. Ant's our best player, but now we've added the "Slim Jim" to go along with our other slim. The guy capable of unlocking the door to our best future. The guy with the brilliant basketball mind who in combination with our best player can cause a parade to take place. Yes my friends, we needed a point guard and we've got the right one.

Finch was right. This team has traded moodiness for giddiness. And I love it.
You can see the chemistry and competitiveness, a good sign for Game 1.
Our starting lineup is legit and our 6th man is legit (Ayo). Behringer is in the best situation to develop him. He will get a solid 12 minutes a game. There will be mistakes but he has all the physical traits and the motor to develop into a legit NBA player.

It has been so obvious how the burden of play making for others has been lifted from ANT’s shoulders, allowing him to focus on scoring and defending. 10 defensive rebounds kinda flew under the radar!

Ant and Jaden aren't gong to grab 18 rebounds every game, but Ball and JK aren't going to only grab 3 rebounds between them often either as they usually average 10 between them in their careers.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 11:31 am What I’m not saying, “everything’s fine”

We should for sure pick a legit large veteran defensive type for either the 2 way or last roster spot as soon as possible, but this game represented a best case scenario relief. They played their style and didn’t back down. Live by the three die by the three so i bet we get blown out by the Magic…

If we're outrebounding the opponent we're good. There are only so many rebounds to grab and if you're on the plus side of the ledger who cares who has the most individually?rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 4:44 pmAnt and Jaden aren't gong to grab 18 rebounds every game, but Ball and JK aren't going to only grab 3 rebounds between them often either as they usually average 10 between them in their careers.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2026 11:31 am What I’m not saying, “everything’s fine”

One guy I wasn't impressed with was Trey Lyles. Looks slow, weak and doesn't fit the system. The minutes he was out there we had a lot of defensive break downs. End of bench big at best, should not be in the rotation. Would prefer Cody Williams gets minutes and we play smaller.
