Great night last night: Twins win and Angels/Yankees lose. We have a little breathing room now in the wildcard race while keeping the #1 spot within our sites. But now Texas is coming on strong. No rest for the weary.

Buxton in a slump.....and when the hell can Sano play again?

Some good news today about Sano...he hit in the cage yesterday without pain, and plans to hit live pitching on the field today. He'll fit nicely between Polanco and Rosario when he's ready, and that will allow Mollie to move the slumping Buxton down the lineup.

Some good news today about Sano...he hit in the cage yesterday without pain, and plans to hit live pitching on the field today. He'll fit nicely between Polanco and Rosario when he's ready, and that will allow Mollie to move the slumping Buxton down the lineup.

That is good news. Where are we in home runs as a team compared to the others? (Yes, I know I could look it up). It seems like unlike prior Twins squads over the past 15-20 yrs, this group has multiple guys with some pop. But frankly I just don't pour over the numbers like I do with basketball so I just don't know if that's really the case or not. Just feels like we finally have some power.

Grossman has been a welcome sight to the lineup. He had a nice day today.

Buxton even struggled on a. But attempt. He had another terrific catch so he still helped the team.

It was good to see Rosario have a good day. He hasn't been as good the last week or so.

It's pretty nice to have a utility guy like Escobar who has 60 RBIs and has 16 HRs. He is a streaky guy but is a run producer. Has anyone seen how Nunez has been doing for Boston?

Hildenberger has been absolutely fantastic. If the Twins can get some of the guys healthy they were hoping to have help the pen next year and a couple turn out to be useful we may have something there. All things considered the pen might be farther along than we could hope considering all the injuries. We always knew Belisle had this in him right?

Well it would have been nice to keep rolling and get another win but it didn't happen even with what ended up to be a nice performance from Berrios after he got in some trouble early.

The good news is none of the other wild card teams are all that hoe the last 10 games either. It's coming down the stretch but there is quite a bit of baseball to be played. How many wins do you think Cleveland will get in a row. Heck they are now working towards possible being the best record in baseball with the Dodgers falling off a cliff. What has happened to the Dodgers makes the resilience of the Twins even more impressive. If I remember correctly they have not lost more than 4 games in a row all season.

But you probably can guess what I'm mad about. My son just called me and said "Damn...Mollie did it again. What a nitwit!" Same situation that I complained about two nights ago. 2-2 game, Mauer leads off the 8th with a single. Polanco and Rosario are the next two hitters up, and Polanco is 3-8 with two doubles off Minor and Rosario is 0-8 with 4 K's. So what does the genius manager decide to do. He has the 3-8 guy bunt, so the 0-8 guy can come up and strike out again...unbelievable! Polanco owns Mike Minor...let him hit! I get that the book says to bunt in that situation, but not when you have your hottest hitter at the plate and a guy who can't hit the pitcher on deck.

A decent night for the scoreboard watching. Cleveland keeps winning and the Dodgers keep losing. Unbelievable.

Also Alex Meyer has a torn Labrum in his shoulder so he will he having surgery and probably will miss next season. He was having some success this year. Too bad.
