Vikings vs. 49ers Thread
I know it's a rather late one, but is anyone else watching tonight? I'll be watching not only for the first game of Teddy's second season, but also his first game with AP in the backfield. I think AP negates a lot of the O-Line worries. Unfortunately, our O-Line has been the only part of our team significantly affected by injuries this offseason, as it's also arguably our thinnest position, but at least our Defense has remained intact. As long as we contain Kaepernick we should have this game by a mile, but if he gets loose often we will be in for a long night. I'm tempering expectations, but still believe we win 24 to 19.

I think we could surprise a lot of people this year. The offensive line definitely is a concern but our defense is going to be awesome. Bridgewater I think really comes into his own this year. I would be ok with that score since it covers the spread and I need us to do that but I am hoping for something more like 31-10 with Peterson going crazy.

Meanwhile a defensive battle between Eagles and Falcons so far?

Jason Peters getting outplayed by a rookie is something I don't think anybody predicted. Philly's O-Line was supposed to be a strength and they are getting dominated right now and that's turned Murray into a non-factor so far. I'm just hoping this isn't what our line looks like because AP like Murray isn't good enough to have a big game if the first hit is always behind the line of scrimmage.

49ers driving down the field like nothing. It's just the first drive right?

This game has just been stupid to watch at this point. I don't even understand what's going on. So many mistakes everywhere, all the time. Trent and Boom have been tough to listen to as well.

Yeah, the 1st half has not left me wanting to watch the 2nd half.

How the fuck do you score 3 points with AP and Teddy on your team? Was Norv in a coma in the first half? Nothing he ran looks like he understands what type of player AP is and how to properly use him. Newsflash, an up-tempo shotgun style offense isn't gonna work when your running back is dumb as bricks and doesn't understand how and where to block. Norv didn't start making good play calls until the 3rd quarter was almost over. Always a joy being a no-show and getting embarrassed on national television when everyone is praising you all offseason long as a team that should take another step forward this year. Everyone sucked tonight especially the D-line. They couldn't keep the edge to save their life and barely put any pressure on Kap all night. We lost the battle of the trenches hard tonight. The O-line got beat pretty bad tonight. Not a good start to the season.
Re: Vikings vs. 49ers Thread
It was depressing no doubt but let's keep in mind a couple things.
1. San Fran has a new coaching system and new schemes on both sides of the ball. Their DC is pretty good if I remember right and they still have some playmakers over there. So maybe the 49ers are for real I'm some ways or maybe they did some things that weren't expected. Let's see how it plays out.
2. The 49ers still have some good players. It was good to see Bowman healthy he looked like the guy he was before the injury which was one of the best playmakers in the entire league. That was a question mark going into this season. Hell the whole 49ers te was a question mark after their offseason.
3. It's the first game lets not freak out too much. The teams in the Super Bowl last year were considered done a few games into the season. There was some troubling stuff in this game but there was some positives. I'm not surprised AP didn't blow up in this game either. It's the first game he hasn't played in a game for a year. He might not quite make all the right cuts right off. Plus I've never totally trusted him as a pass protector. He does alright now but I still don't always trust him. Asiata and McKinnon did a nice job when they were in there we have the backs to back up AP we have been missing since we left Chestor Taylor go. I think we get this thing figured out.
Edit: Coming back down...this game was depressing. The good thing was my friends got this ceiling painted and carpet ripped up where I watched the game. Honestly I went and got some donuts after the game to cheer me up. Lol oh and I won my fantasy matchup. Yey...
