Outside vs Inside

Post by bleedspeed »

Anyone else thinking we will miss playing outside once the new car smell wears off the new stadium?

The games are going to be more fun to watch indoors and we won't have to freeze our asses off to watch bad football due to weather.

I prefer football outside until the end of November. Than it will be nice to have it indoors. Those sunny fall days are the days I will miss outdoors. As well as a just having to deal with the elements and how it changes the game plan.

i doubt it. This stadium seems to have some nice design elements so it's not just another stuffy dome or whatever. I don't know if I either to a game but my family might do a tour at some point. Last year we did a tour of Target field and it was easily worth the price of admission. Go on a day they aren't playing you get to see a lot more stuff.

I did the Target Field tour with my daughters school. Good stuff.

Like baseball. Football is meant to be played outside in my opinion. It will be interesting how to see what it is like playing in the greenhouse.

I don't know who your tour guide was but the guy we had was probably worth nearly the price of admission.

Funny story:

Tony Olivia (the tour guide's favorite player) happen to come by and walked past and greeted everyone with high fives when we were going through the press box. My wife who is from MN but hardly a sports fan had no idea who he was and therefore was contemplating this and Olivia said to her something like "Smile young lady you're at the Baseball field." It was pretty hilarious. For someone who doesn't care about sports there are a number of funny sports stories involving my wife. Lol

The only NFL games I have attended were in the Metrodome so... Lol a couple years ago so went to a game here in Lincoln and Memorial Stadium and it was a fantastic experience. I do think with more teams changing to the new artificial turf technologies or a hybrid combined with real grass the stadiums that are not open air will seem a bit less weird than they were the last 30+ years. Honestly I tend to agree football seems like an outside sport but this new stadium seems like a fairly worthwhile compromise.

My great Uncle who has been a season ticket holder for years said if the Vikings had built and outdoor stadium he would have gave up his tickets but he is far from a spring chicken so...
