Fantasy Football thread

Post by Monster »

Anyone want to talk FF?

Pretty much every week I will probably be asking myself whether to play Teddy or Flacco as my 2nd QB so I'll take any thoughts on that people want to share. Lol

For the first time ever I am running back heavy (usually end up with top WRs and TEs) and with Ivory and Lamar Miller questionable I am probably just rolling with Dion Lewis instead. Hopefully he ends up being effective the rest of the season. I couldn't believe nobody picked him up in my league this week.

Espn scoring but it's custom for example an Aaron Rodgers level QB gets 35 points a game average so QBs are pretty valuable in our league. I think the main difference to the scoring is the only negatives to the QBs are INTs and obviously if they get negative rushing yards. Luck is my top QB so it would be nice if he finds his groove sometime. Lol

I'm in an 18-team money league on ESPN. The scoring is standard except for there's no negative points given for missed field goals and you get 0.5 points per reception. I drafted well and made five trades already through three weeks. I just wanted to know what you guys thought of the team I've assembled. Keep in mind some of my moves were to set myself up for the playoffs later in the year.

Starting lineup consists of: QB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR/TE, TE, D/ST, K

QB: Drew Brees*, Jay Cutler*, Luke McCown (this week only)
RB: Arian Foster*, Danny Woodhead, Alfred Morris, Lance Dunbar
WR: Antonio Brown, Dez Bryant*, Larry Fitzgerald
TE: Greg Olsen, Antonio Gates (SSPD)
D/ST: Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings
K: Josh Brown

* denotes a player ruled out for injury
SSPD = Suspended

Week 3 starting lineup:

QB: Luke McCown
RB: Alfred Morris (locked)
RB/WR: Danny Woodhead
WR: Antonio Brown
WR/TE: Larry Fitzgerald
TE: Greg Olsen
D/ST: Philadelphia Eagles
K: Josh Brown (locked)

That looks like a pretty good roster for 18 teams even with as smaller roster than what my league has.

I suppose it depends on your league but I have found streaming defenses is a pretty good way to go. Looking for favorable matchup in the playoffs and holding onto defenses for those times has me rostering 3 defenses sometimes. One reason I can do that is our league has a spot for head coach which you get positive or negative points for point differential of winning/losing. Imo it's typically not worth the risk/reward of playing a HC so I don't even roster one.

I picked up Andre Ellington he was a FA in my league. I know the RB situation is unclear there but he has produced at a pretty high level when he has been healthy. I dropped. Sproles in a non PPR league to get him.

Thought I'd update people on my team for those that appreciate fantasy football talk.

Week 5: Sitting at 2-2 record. 18-team league. 0.5 PPR.

QB: Drew Brees
RB: Arian Foster
RB/WR: Danny Woodhead
WR: Antonio Brown
WR/TE: Larry Fitzgerald
TE: Antonio Gates
D/ST: Philadephia Eagles
K: Josh Brown

BE: Greg Olsen
BE: Dez Bryant
BE: Minnesota Vikings D/ST
BE: Willie Snead
BE: Jay Cutler
BE: Kenny Stills
BE: Jimmy Graham

And for fun, I put together a list of the trades I've made to this point.

1. Roddy White and Darren Sproles for Greg Olsen and Shane Vereen... (pre-season)
2. Jared Cook for Sammy Watkins... (after week one)
3. Sammy Watkins for Alfred Morris... (after week one)
4. Shane Vereen and Rashad Greene for Larry Fitzgerald and Antonio Gates* [suspended]... (after week one)
5. Brandin Cooks for Dez Bryant* [injured]... (after week three)
6. Alfred Morris for Kendall Wright... (after week three)
7. Kendall Wright for Jimmy Graham... (after week four)

Just sold high on Willie Snead.

Sent: Greg Olsen, Willie Snead, Tennessee Titans D/ST
Received: Randall Cobb, St. Louis Rams D/ST, Crockett Gilmore

Feeling really good about that deal.
