QB Austin Davis

Post by bleedspeed »

Cut by Browns to get to 75. Met with Cowboys and nothing happened.

Had a solid 2014. 85.1 QB rating. Near production of TB last year.

I like him relatively speaking. He has plenty of physical ability. Guys like this is why I am not sure it makes sense to give up anything worthwhile to get someone else's backup.

I am in the same boat. Sign him and if Murray becomes available pick him up too. I don't see our backups being grabbed by anyone else.

I haven't paid attention to how Stave has been doing because until a couple days ago nobody really cared. If he is healthy they might want to keep him because he is in the offense knows stuff and at least has all the physical tools. I won't be sad if he goes though. I liked they picked him up as an UFA because he is one of those guys with all the tools, but I don't have a lot of faith in him if he had to play.

I just think the risk of Stave getting picked up is so so low. What little I saw of him last night I think we in big trouble if he ever gets in a game for us.

Oh I I absolutely agree I don't think any team will be picking up Stave and my point is his value to the Vikings is he knows the offense etc. My guess is he will be on the practice squad all year at the very least. at this point anyone other than Shaun Hill playing QB for the Vikings is going to be bad news even if they add a solid vet just because it takes time for them to get up to speed. I see on Twitter Taylor H is maybe only 3 weeks away from being healthy.

I hadn't heard that about Taylor, but if true that is outstanding news. Ask any badger fan ( where I live they are everywhere ) and they will tell you about the trash that is Stave. Like you said, his only positive is knowing the playbook. Maybe he can teach others on the practice squad because that is the only positive we can possibly hope from him.

One of my best friends is from Racine and is a Badgers fan. Says Stave is trash and says he sucks. I always say he is his boy from WI. lol
