The #Vikings are trying to trade center John Sullivan, per sources. He's healthy now. Some veteran help available.

53 man projections. Sheperd was included, but already has been cut.

It makes sense. I wonder what the market is for starting centers. I heard Seattle has a guy they are willing to let go of also. If the Vikings are really shopping Sully they must feel good about Easton also.

I've made the assumption that Sheperd had a good chance to make it since he was on the roster all last year and was used in various jumbo packages. Other guys may have beaten him out. I heard no positive buzz about him from camp etc though. I would think a guy like Sirles who has practiced at every spot on the Oline in his short NFL career probably has the versatility to beat any fringe guy and who knows if he will even make it.

I agree. I hope Eaton is on track to be the guy for 2017. I am not sure who needs a center and what would be the right price. It is not the end of the world if we don't trade Sully. Injuries happen and Berger is so versatile. Beavers doesn't sound like he has impressed. I know I have beated this drum before, but wish we would have used that 4th on a DT. I like our top 3 reserves, but would love to have a young potential stud DT being groomed behinds Ted.

There is always next year. The Vikings picked Shamar in like the 7th round. Kendrick Ellis was picked if I remember right in the 3rd round a few years ago and honestly is a pretty solid player but likely won't make the roster. Keep in mind that if the Vikings had drafted a DT in the 4th round they may have had to cut a DT they liked like Shamar or at another position to keep 5 DT. It's also possible that the DT that were available to them didn't fit what they were looking for. DT is one of the strengths of the team right now and Oline is...certainly more of a question mark except at center apparently.

It was a great DT class. We just reached on Beavers instead of bpa.
