I just feel like we didn't do enough in the offseason for a backup for Teddy. If we would have landed Foles do you think we make a play for Bradford? Do you think Hill might have been cut prior to the injury?
If they had Foles they wouldn't have traded for Bradford and I doubt they would have cut Hill right away either with Heineken out.
Here's another way to look at it. If the Vikings would have had a healthy Heinicke or if they had landed Foles...they don't go out and get Bradford however at this point in time I think Bradford if he can stay healthy is the best QB out of those guys. For this season Bradford MAY actually end up being the best option so not having those other options MIGHT work out well for the Vikings except they had to give up those picks but if Bradford plays well and stays healthy giving up that pick will be pretty easy to live with.
Edit:
Like you said the deal for Bradford was good considering the timing which was a big deal. Until a few weeks ago the Vikings had 2 young QBs they felt really good about going into the season and a vet security blanket in Hill. Heinicke jacks up his foot and then Teddy is out for the season. Landing Foles when Heinicke was down would have been nice (I like Foles) but he ended up with Reid which made a lot more sense for his career there is a path to being a starter there that wasn't there with a healthy Teddy. The gap between top 15-20 (maybe lower) starter or so in the league and guys that are backups and some on the trash heap sometimes is difficult to decipher. It's very subjective ranking guys and some of what guy is good is based a lot on fit. Bradford to me fits here really well so that's significant to me.
I really do like Bradford here. Team is in good hands, but really worry about him coming in with any time to get reps. Timing of this couldn't have been much worse. I looked at the Madden ratings and Viking team really is not rated highly I was thinking based on the talk around here we had the best team in the league and we are lucky to be in the top half for the video game.

I've never been one to base my opinion a on a team based on a video game however I think your point was made. :) I think one aspect of this team that's overrated by fans is the WRs. That doesn't mean I don't like the WRs Corp here I do but they have t proven to be anything special or even average as a group. Is there reason for optimism? Yes it turns out CJ was hurt last year so he didn't just dissappear. Treadwell is a nice prospect. Wright is down the depth chart and while some of that is him being hampered by injury it seems unlikely he suddenly got worse and that elevated those other guys. So If guys like Thielen and CP have actually improved which Wright being lower suggests...that's a pretty good thing. Diggs had a nice rookie season. I like him I liked him when he was drafted but I'm not banking on him being a top WR yet. I need to see more. TEs are a pretty nice group all 4 of them. RBs are a. I've group with AP leading the way as one of the top runners in the league McKinnon as a young guy that's shown potential versatile as a playmaker, Line as the Fullback that can do more than block and Asiata who is a terrific security blanket do it all decently RB but WRs is a young relatively unproven but seemingly talented group. I hope they show they are a nice group but I am keeping a bit of an attitude they need to prove it although obviously some of that is dependent on QB play.
Other than that Oline is still a question mark but I feel a bit optimistic about it considering we had a line that probably wasn't any worse last year and they somehow made it work. I think this line SHOULD be at least a little better. Defense is legit and that's Zimmer's strength. It's not a perfect team but there isnt one out there. Every team with legit Super Bowl aspirations has at least one big flaw/question mark.
I know. I just thought it was so odd. We are ranked with the Lions and Falcons for rating. I have been saying it will be tough to win 11 games again this season before Teddy went down. Lots of people thought I was crazy.

Well the thing is the NFL is considered a quarterback league and for good reason but there are exceptions but I don't exactly expect that to show up in a video game. What do I know I don't really play them.
To be honest as much as I like him and believe in the guy Teddy hasn't proven to be all that fantastic (let's be honest he was below average last year) and that may be a big part of that rating. The way the Vikings are/were put together they didn't have to have Teddy turning out an all pro season or anything but that probably doesn't make the team's ranking stay high.
Of course the Bronco's just won a Super Bowl with a HOF QB that played most of the season like a backup but I think even Peyton's biggest detractors will give him some credit for helping the team beyond the stats or whatnot and it's not like the Broncos had some amazing RB either. The Vikings do have an amazing RB.
You are right it's damn tough to win 10 games in the NFL (only so many games a lot of parity etc) but I think it's reasonable for fans of this team to expect that and more going into this season partly because if you have AP and the defense the Vikings are likely to have you have a shot.
For what it is worth. Bridgewater had a higher rating then Bradford. I am curious to see what we do this weekend. I think the Titans will be a tough game or much tougher then people are giving them credit for.

I'm not worried...Titans were 1-7 last year at home, and you don't turn things around that quickly. Terrible defensive team. I think Zimmer is worried about starting Hill because he thinks he might light it up so much he has to start him against the Pack. I think it's 50/50 Sam starts this week.
I think they will be able to run on us and work the clock. I can't believe Dick LeBeau is still coaching and will be interested to see how the D does for them this year. I also think they have the better QB, by a lot.
