Would you take a 1st round pick for Zimmer?
Speculation is that the Cowboys may want him. I'm not sure if I would do it.
Re: Would you take a 1st round pick for Zimmer?
In terms of asset acquisition sure. Zimmer is also 63 and turns 64 in June and has had some health issues so how much longer will he be healthy enough to coach?
On the other hand who do you replace him with? Someone in the organization? Do we have the next Super Bowl winning coach on staff? A retread guy? The next hot coordinator name? I don't care enough to dig into the options right now but nothing really comes to mind. 1st rounders are valueable but coaching in the NFL has more value than the other major sports. You can also legitimately find good players in mid to later rounds and undrafted guys even.
Again look at the Browns. They dumped both their GM and head coach and are now planning to hire their coach first and then hire a GM. In football maybe that is ok but...that franchise...I'd rather be well above average than drop down to being something worse than the Lions. Coaching matters and if you aren't sure the Browns are a good example IMO.

I think it depends on how this season turns out and if that is what Zimmer would really want to do. Finding another coach and rehauling the staff is a problem (new system next season on both sides). So again, I'm not sure if I would do it.
Heck just go win the Super Bowl and I won't care either way! lol

I personally think Zimmer has had a nice run in Minnesota and a change in scenery wouldn't mean a total repudiation of what he has accomplished or built over the past 6 seasons. It might be time for some new blood. I'd definitely do it since a 1st rounder in the NFL is a pretty big freakin' deal. Those guys can make a big impact right away (unlike the NBA, as us Wolves fans know all too well).

If Andre Patterson left with Zimmer that could be a pretty big deal. We have been churning out DL with him here.

I would do it. I would promote Kubiak or bring back Shurmur.

This team is going 8nto rebuild mode within the next couple years so I'd do it and give Kubiak the job. The offense wouldn't see significant change and we all know the defense needs some change.
Unless they make a deep playoff run of take that offer.

Stefanski is as good as gone so dumping Zimmer and promoting him is an option. I don't think the Wilf's would do that though.
